I made everyone at my work listen to this today. As they're usually not the biggest fans of EDM, I was pleasantly surprised when several people asked me who I was playing today.

Loving this!

Now if only they would release some of this on vinyl too!

I haven't recieved my cd yet.. I got a confirmation mail aswell on the 8th but no cd. I hope I get it soon because it's taken over a week already and my hopes are going down for ever recieving it

In the meanwhile I've been listening to a digital copy and I absolutely adore the album I love how Mainlining goes into Blink and Vowel is such a track. Submerge is a nice tune and of course Papillon, Triclops, Longhorn, ah I like them all!

Mine arrived today. +1 on the disappointment of them signing the plastic cover, but it's not like that really matters.

Had a preliminary listen and I am loving this! Great work.

'Pylon Pigs' mini review...

This album is gold, excellent release. Success! Simon & Paul, phenomenal work -- thanks for still understanding how real quality trance is supposed to be produced and that it's possible with today's new production standards. All so-called 'trance' producers should take notes from you two. Favorites: Longhorn, The Dark Major, Submerge, Funnelweb, Triclops, Blink, Vowel, Papillon, Mainlining. Everything flows so well. Funnelweb is an excellent closing track choice. The acid lines are to die for and very original.

I finally got my cd yesterday, it had a small crack in the case too but it doesn't bother me much.
Loving the album as already stated and about the digital EP, the track 'Vocoder Allstars' is a nice fresh tune along with the Orkidea remix of Two Full Moons & A trout.
The only difference on the other tracks on the EP is a longer outro from what I can hear.
I likey!

Can I be the first to say that I don't absolutely worship this CD? Don't get me wrong; there are some brilliant tracks here which really show how trance should be done, and this is still one of the best albums of the year. I just have two issues:

a) The mixing/mastering. I'm not sure what it is because I don't have enough experience, but even on my hatchback's stereo, which is relatively light on bass, a lot of the tracks sound really heavy. Particularly Longhorn, to the point that my ears actually hurt. It doesn't sound like clipping, but something is wrong.

b) Although nine of the ten tracks are brilliant, this doesn't feel like an album. It oscillates frequently from light to dark, chilled to thumping. The themes are all over the place too, with the station/airport thing in Mainlining and then the spacey, sci-fi feel in Lifeblood. I don't like the flow of it at all.

Can anyone with more experience in mixing/mastering comment?

Posted by Lews on Nov-06-2009 03:13:

Which song didn't you like?

I agree with the heavy bass comment, though for me it wasn't too distracting or even bad. It was just heavy lol.

I like the bass being heavy, I prefer it like that in this album, wouldn't be the same othervise.

The heavy bass in Longhorn is actually one of the reasons why I like that track so much

Don't you think that the constant fluctuation of styles and mood was the actual concept behind this CD? "There Will Be No Armageddon" was similar in that respect. Also, I won't believe that so experienced artists would find it troublesome to put tracks in correct order if they wanted to go for a typical downbeat (intro) - upbeat - downbeat (outro) scheme.

Digweed spinning "Papillon":

Mainlining. I like the concept, but the execution is poor.

Nor do I, hence why it seems so strange that they did. I don't understand the point in having such inconsistency in intensity, unless it's something like this: http://www.discogs.com/Ja%C3%AFa-Fiction/release/477475
