lol viewing at the theater sucks. uncomfortable seats, noise, overpriced food and drinks.

no thanks. i'd rather download it and watch it at home on my huge flat screen. and if it's good enough, i'll buy it when it comes on dvd.

This I don't get , watching a movie On a Tv you will never experience the film in a trillion years , you'll think you have experienced it but you've been cheated .

Back on topic Tarantino is on my 5 top all time fav directors, I think my avatar says it all

Something to look out for is that he brings back old movie stars as part of the main characters and makes the current ones look like trash .

I'm so looking forward to this.

The best Movie theater that I ever stepped into would be the " ArcLight Hollywood"

che was beyond awesome. benecio del torro's best work by far. i only wish i could watch part 2 right away.

can't wait to see this tonight. a friend went to an advance screening last night and told me it is the best movie that he has seen all year. hopes are high.

It's called having a clue. You might have heard of it.

Posted by enydo on Aug-21-2009 16:19:

Movie absolutely blew me away. I was expecting a pretty generic Tarantino affair but it was nearly the complete opposite. Strong characters, extremely stylish, and the movie is genuinly funny. This ones up there with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction for me, definitely want to go see it again.

Posted by Slylee on Aug-21-2009 16:37:

i watched pulp fiction the other night and i must say, it has too much dialogue. it never occured to me before but for some reason that 10th time watching it lol i realized that a lot of tarantino films have too much unecessary dialogue and you can tell that his style (trying to be different).

death proof is a perfect example of too much uncessary dialogue that became borderline annoying after a while...even though that movie was pretty cool for the most part.

Posted by Renzo on Aug-21-2009 16:38:

The dialogue is what made Pulp Fiction great. At least for me.

Posted by Slylee on Aug-21-2009 16:41:

yea i know what you mean, i guess i should have specified certain scenes.

i dunno, but the women in the whole Butch scenerio annoyed the fuck out of me when i watched it the other night. the cab driver chick and the "blueberry pancake" chick. ugh...horrible acting and just overall annoying. what was that chick trying to be a 5 year old?

*edit* and i still love the movie, im just saying that after watching it so many times, i'm starting to find a little fault with it. like how you look back on action movies from the 90s that you loved and now think, "wtf nice special effects"

Posted by lenazi on Aug-21-2009 16:53:

the dialogue is what makes pulp fiction one of those movies you can watch many times, because every time you see it you realize that something said has an subtle impact on the plot that you never realized before. (because of the movie not being a chronological straight line.)

google chronological slylee so you understand what it means.

Del Toro is a very good actor so that's a big statement. May have to check this out after all...

Posted by lenazi on Aug-21-2009 17:00:

i agree, but this was his most convincing role. I studied the latin american revolutions back in school and he truly makes you feel that he is che. The charisma that he had is captured like you would not believe by del torro. I anxiously await the second part

I'll echo what others have already said, his dialogue is amazing. I get so engrossed in it, how he shaves his meaning to a fine point where you don't just understand, you really feel what the character is saying. Only when you step out of it do you realize there hasn't been any action for quite a while, but who cares? Why does action have to be the main course? He is an amazing storyteller.
Death Proof blew me away in the theater, one of the best times I've had at a cinema in years. The first crash still rates as the most intense scene I've ever seen in a movie. I was gripping the arm rests.

Jay, I'm not sure if you're waiting for a proper release, but if you're ok with a booted copy, here's Che pt 2

im fine with movies that have a lot of dialogue but i was just saying that a couple of characters from pulp fiction are annoying to me now lol relax.

fear & loathing in las vegas is a perfect example of what jay was explaining to me like i'm a moron. ive seen that movie at least 20 times and im sure there is still some dialogue i've missed that i'll pick up on the next time i see it. excellent movie.

has anyone seen death proof? it's a tarantino film. anyway there is a scene with the girls eating at a diner and it's the most obnoxious babbling-type dialogue and it really seemed to drag on and not have a point. unless i missed it lol

Posted by Slylee on Aug-21-2009 17:28:

also, i would fuck benecio del toro's brains out

Posted by lenazi on Aug-21-2009 17:33:

i'll wait for the official release i like blu ray, but thank you

death proof was a horrible movie.

Posted by WittyHandle on Aug-21-2009 17:34:

Jamie, I wasn't directing my comments against you. There are a lot of people who accuse Tarantino of having too much dialogue, and I just think they're missing the point. I heard several people refer to Death Proof as an extended episode of The View (a bunch of women rambling on). Maybe it's just not for them, that's cool. I thought it was amazing.

Posted by djhaziel on Aug-21-2009 17:35:

I agree with renzo and elnazi , the dialogues that tarantino comes up with are epic , after watching his movies so many times all of the sudden you find your self quoting the movie randomly ... "Royale with cheese"

He also makes some random funny references like in "Reservoir Dogs" when they are talking about Pam grier and a show she did in the 80's Who would have thought that years after she would played the main role In Jackie brown . The guy clearly sticks to his roots

I think your main issue was the colombian accent of Miss Villalobos

And the other chick I'm sure you would love her if you saw Henry and June . Thats her voice btw

Posted by Slylee on Aug-21-2009 17:36:

lol at your sig. "thearpy"

and do you like bruce willis' little girlfriend character in pulp fiction and all her childish babbling? just curious.

also that stupid cab driver badgering him about "keeling a man" lol i was like god shut the fuck up. i just thought both of those characters were horrible actresses.

i thought she sounded russian and when i saw pulp fiction again the other night, i realized she is supposed to be colombian. i thought she sounded more russian than anything. and i know a lot of colombians...they don't sound like that at all.

yea i know i was talking to jay too, not just you.

trust me i love tarantino for the most part and i thought death proof was a cool movie, but that one scene was horrible (the view lol). it almost killed it for me, i was ready to change the channel.

I think delToro did an excellent role playing el Che , Oscar or Cannes worthy. IMO I don't think anybody will portray el Che the way he did .

The one Gael garcia did on "motorcycle diaries" was just too tender and forced .
