half way there already. Already got a dj residency at a hot club, next thing on the menu - Rockstar poses and hot girls. Jealous much?

Now that I have a dj residency at one of the hottest clubs on the east coast, I will have preprogrammed sets on my laptop that WILL rock a crowd. Better than what you can do... I bet your still just a bedroom dj, too bad for you.

No thanks, the last thing I am going to do is post it here with all the haters so you can copy it and pretend to be a dj elitist. I am just sharing my personal experience and encouraging beginning djs that there is a way to get great residencies without the "proper oh god if you dont follow this way you suck" way.

Posted by belagio11 on Sep-02-2009 20:42:

I will mention that I just went on beatport, went to a specific category and just got songs from top 100. So easy to do.

Seriously the people who hate on software and the new age are just jealous. I understand their frustration but it's nothing but jealousy. I can only imagine how all the producers who made it back in the day feel today. They had to pay for their studio time back then! No guarantees you'd ever even finish anything.

I handed my mix I finished to a promoter of a nightclub I've been really wanting to work at and got a call back last night offering me a DJ RESIDENCY there !!! Not bad, having only dj'd for 2 weeks and landing a residency at one of the hottest clubs in the east coast! Without the new technology and software this would not be possible and I would have still been stuck on learning how to beatmatch. Now I am a resident dj,I'm so happy! Thanks again everyone who supported and pm'd me. For all the haters, go have fun "learning and perfecting" your beatmatching, your looking at a new resident dj here that didnt have to.

"The east coast". Not like you would have listed a city and club name if you actually got a residency mr. troll.

And if your set was so good you would love to share it to rub into your "haters" faces.

Miami, Fl , club name will be confidential. Why would I post my set to share with everyone when I can use it to land more dj residencies? My dj residency is not exclusive to the club, only once a week so the other days I would like to dj at other clubs as well.

You expect us to believe you landed a residency in arguably the biggest edm/clubbing city in the US without posting a set of your 2 week old abilities? Some of us may want to come watch such a professional! It's obvious you're lying man; why? I have no idea!

Posted by The wiijay on Sep-03-2009 01:29:

the guy doesn't know how to beatmatch but he still gets hi profile gigs? shit, that sounds a lot like tiesto

Posted by Lews on Sep-03-2009 02:22:

Obvious troll is obvious.

Posted by flymo-meek on Sep-03-2009 13:04:

Are you kidding me!!!! Is this guy serious or what?? I jumped from the insults on page 2 to residencies in big clubs without knowing how to beatmatch hahahaha what a WUM.

Take the hit you goon and learn like everyone else! Is this why when I tell people i'm a DJ they ask me what size my Ipod is? Most likely.

Belagio-blow you are a f***ing disgrace.

Posted by amp3 on Sep-03-2009 15:58:

I'm revising my troll-o-meter to 8.5/10, people are still responding. If this makes it to 10 pages, than belagio will have the coveted 10/10.
Still well done.

Josh Wink

DJing isn't just beatmatching tunes though, and there is a lot of other musical knowledge which is gained through dealing with spinning tracks in the old fashioned way, not to mention set programming that also becomes more apparent when you do it for 'real'.

I have to say that personally I don't know any club worth its salt that would hire a dude with a laptop who isn't a recognised name locally as a resident, whom they have never heard play out. Just doesn't sound real to me.

If you are for real, then good luck to you.

But yes, I would say this seems like a troll.

disgrace? I just landed a dj residency at the club I have been wanting to play at for a long time now.. pretty much one of my goals I set for myself. What are you more pissed off about? The fact that I didnt have to learn beatmatching which took you years to perfect or the fact that I am just smarter than you are taking short cuts to get what I want in life? To answer your first question, yes I am serious. I want all the starting djs out there to know that it is possible to get a dj residency without much experience.. all it takes is a good ear for quality tracks you can purchase off of beatport and a simple software that beatmatches for you.

Live performance can be handled professionally as well. It doesnt really matter because when you are in, you're in. Once you land the residency that is your foot in the door. So for the live performances I already made pre programmed sets that I just have to press play and it will play through.. this way I dont have to deal with nerves of mixing live and screwup... it is always a perfect set with the best tracks from beatport and noone knows I only have about 3 weeks of djing under my belt. You guys act like the music industry is so honest and hardworking... this is bullshit, its all about connections and who can get what the easiest way possible.

It tooke me 2 and 1/2 weeks to get what I want.. of course there will be haters pissed off at the fact that they have been trying to perfect their djing skills for years and years and STILL getting nowhere. So who is the smarter one in the end? I am. Like I said, I hope this encourages beginning djs to really pursue their dreams and goals because it is possible to sound professional VERY fast with the technology / software today and the quality tracks available.

One more thing flymo-geek, Im the one in the dj booth while you are on the dance floor. Have fun.

Lie number 1. If you had been wanting to dj there for a long time you would have looked into dj'ing and software mixing sooner. Second of all 2.5 or 3 weeks (which is it liar? ou can't even keep your lies straight) is not long enought o have established any knowledge or goals.

That's what you think. Until they see that you're not actually mixing the music you're playing; then goodbye! yes that is your foot in the door but then you have to prove yourself; which you have no ability to do!

LOL! So what do you do during your allegedly "live performances"? Just stand there while tracks mix themselves to peoples bewilderment??? Or take lines off the hot blondes ass aside the dj booth?

I thought it was 3? If that were actually the case you wouldn't be in here telling us about it

Posted by flymo-meek on Sep-04-2009 13:12:

You are a disgrace because you are a liar. You've probably lied since the first post. Instead of writing long replies about your exploits why don't you post some proof!

Computers are very easy to hide behind. The reason people are ripping you is because you are trying to tell everyone you are a DJ....when you are quite clearly not. Do you know how many people there are in pubs and clubs who push buttons on a laptop, without a CDJ or turntable in sight? Thousands if not millions of them!!! Not one of these people is a DJ and cannot claim to be one. And thats what you are you push a button (probably on your unbreakable, never crashing laptop).

You are not a role model so don't kid yourself. You asked for an opinion and you got one. Just because its not the opinion you wanted doesn't mean you can go and pretend you've been given a residency.

Good luck for when the laptop crashes.

You're an idiot. I'll take your ass to school on my laptop and then you can try to say again I'm not a real dj. The times have changed, the people have changed, and the industry has changed. Gtfo with your altruistic ideals of the past bullshit. This is a different era and there's a reason the old guard isn't being successful any longer.

This guy is a clown but your above statement proved that you are an EVEN BIGGER clown.

quote:
disc jockey
noun
1. a person who conducts a radio broadcast consisting of recorded music, informal talk, commercial announcements, etc.
2. a person who selects, plays, and announces records at a discotheque.

Gtfo assclown.
