i am also willing to bet that i can use a pre set in pro tools to add some vynil pops to a wav, maybe slightly mess with the pitch and you won't be able to tell the difference from it and a vinyl.

i have to disagree. club systems are usually totally misplaced in the room, you have a lot of reflections, room modes, and not a correct stereo image. it is much easier to tell the difference in a studio environment with, for example, b&w 801 or other speakers with a good resolution in the high end (adam etc.). it is again much easier with good headphones in the 200+ area.

no, again i have to disagree. that only simulates two of the many aspects of vinyl sound. the main difference is the mastering, which is man made, you would have to use a plugin with fullrange expansion (to compensate the compression, pretty hard) and inverse eqing. then you would have to use additional eqing to cut the high end, reduce distortions, and in advance reduce phase problems which will occur during the d/a conversion...

ok, probably the regular deadmau5-beatport-ableton-dj wont notice, but the rest will...

there's no showdown, wav is audibly better, but who has space for all that? not me. I was using flac for awhile but converting everything got to be a pain in the ass.

me me me i would throw out all crap music immediatly (tracks i don`t like much but just being there;p) rather have a few (tracks i realy like ;p)top class files then much crappy tracks ;p , if i would run out of space.
have to convert to wav anyway, halion doesn`t take mp3.
the use of that ;p planning to make mixes in nuendo again, not with audio import ;p i like working with the vst better.
