For me, Brahman is simply a metaphor for the theory of everything. The only difference is that you "experience" the reality more than you understand it through a theory of physics. There is no substitute to direct experience of the oneness of this universe. And to me, this experience is Brahman. Since everything is perceived as one, there is no differentiator at all. This leads to paradoxical statements about Brahman which are a characteristic of the impossibility to desirable something which is inherently indifferntiable.
Hinduism only talks about methods to experience this "Brahman". For most people this begins with the worship of a God like Vishnu, Krishna, Ganesh which is representative of the Brahman. The trick is to realize that these are just starting points and not ends in themselves. People start believing in these gods as creators and destroyers of this universe and they start believing in the intelligent design theory. In my opinion, Hinduism fundamentally is a proponent of atheism. In the end, the there is no God who is a creator of this universe. The Hindu gods are nothing but a guide to help experience the creator-less oneness of this universe.
There are other methods of experiencing the Brahman. And these methods do not involve the concept of Gods or Deities.

I understand that the infinite cannot be captured by thought (krishnamurti), in essence, the nature of all, cannot be comprehended by humans - because we don't have enough resources and knowledge to prove that there is a 'source' or 'organizing principle'; we base our beliefs on faith (or lack thereof), we base our conclusions on 'assumptions of this organizing principle, this entity that is omniscient, omnipresent, etc. because we are humans, and as humans it is in our nature to feel 'hope' and it is in our nature to believe in what cannot be proven. It is alot like 'infinity' in mathematics, where it cannot be comprehended, it is just assumed. "What is infinity?" is a very similar question to "what is god?"
This has been mildly entertaining.

Join me and you shall be enlightened. |
Thou hast posted this thread as a sign of thy greatness, God, for every time I come and read thy words, I end up saying your name as the blessed palm of my hand reaches for my face.
pseudo-philosophical alt is pseudo-philosophical.

I do not need to join you for we are already composed of the same existing as children of the same universe. |

that's a very confusing picture i must say.
Whatever gods that exist are under the same illusion of identity and trapped in samsara, the cycle of rebirth. The true bliss of Nirvana can only be attained by transcending the illusory.
As the Zen master says: "If you see the Buddha on the road, kill him"
