His new style is whiteboy indietronica, which not only has NOTHING to do with Trance, but is awful. Tiesto is becoming the David "Top 40" Guetta of the Trance scene. Which, frankly, is very sad, for he was my first and most fav Trance DJ /Producer /Remixer.

I was like ... hmmm Tiesto has a new album and they're bashing it on TA...cool, it must be atleast somewhat good...

it isn't...

Wait...have you heard some of the sh*t on here that gets praised? It's pretty abysmal.

I have been listening to the Tiesto - Kaleidoscope CD special (Radio XM81 BPM). There are some good tracks on there. The problem is that I first read peoples opinions on here about it and went in with a negative mentality.

Eh everyone evolves. If Tiesto stayed to his late 90's/early 00's sounds alot of people would bitch about how he has not "evolved" his sound. Its fickle and when you can pack arenas to listen to the music you DJ then yes you are going to be "commercial" because the people buying your music want that "sound".

I completely agree, lots of people forget that the beauty of music is that it's fluid, as all art is. Artists constantly seek to try new things and push boundaries as Tiesto is with this new album. He's testing the lines by fusing different genres together and in my opinion, he has been quite successful.

Also, this mix with Three 6 Mafia is going to be LEGENDARY. Though many must hate how rap and electronic music are fusing, I think it's awesome for both genres and quite honestly, not very easy to pull off. This tune sounds like it will be bumpin' in all the clubs. Fitting because both hip-hop/rap and trance/house are about that beat that makes you shake that ass. Nice to see them complimenting each other.

No, he hasn't push any boundaries whatsoever in this new album. The only track which is of any quality and fairly fresh is the opening track - Kaleidoscope. The rest of the tracks are poor imitations of commercial trance with awful thoughtless vocals, no creativity and general laziness.

Although... I do agree with you in regards to him trying to fuse genres together, this is evident in some of his latest sets and it actually works quite well.

All I would say on this matter is - look how many people on tranceaddict have got bored of trance after a few years. Tiesto must have listened to much more trance than anyone of us, so I can't blame him for going for a completely different sound now.

I fucking hate it, but I don't think he is a dick for doing it
