Like I said, it sounds shitty, and that sucks that your employer was incompetent and didn't know Object Oriented Design from a hole in the ground, I was just pointing out that keeping quiet would have kept your job.

They are also cheap bastards, when they fired me they never payed my vacation, and to cover up how many hours I had they stopped putting the numbers on everyones paystubs...

I heard they are back on there now, so I am going to get my lawyers back on them lol, they are scared shitless of lawyers.

Also, they opted out of paying unemployment insurance fees so they are basically footing the bill for my unemployment haha, they pay me almost the same amount of money per month, but I do no work for them!

no matter what they were, at the end of the day they are still the ones who signed your paycheck. You act like you don't realize this.

I realize it, but I had no respect for them. When I didn't need the job in the first place, fuck them, I will criticize them and tell them how they suck all I want. In the end I wanted them to do good, why would I want the place I work at to fail. I liked working, when it was fun, but it got to the point where every day was a fucking struggle that seemed totally inane and pointless.

then why did you get fired and not quit

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Sep-17-2009 17:45:

sounds shitty indeed. you may think/possibly are more knowledgeable of the development material, but guess what? they're signing your pay checks. i can't count how many shitty jobs i've had in the past, where i knew a bit more about developing shit, but you know what i did? i stuck with it until the company fell to the ground or they didn't have enough payroll to pay me. well that was my young earlier days where i would accept a block of cheese as a paycheck. not now. i'm sure there are other factors tying around this whole situation, but it sounds like it's still buried deep inside you, since in your mind, you think the company is in shit in water with you not there.

unemployment... i told them i was going to continue doing my job the same way i had for the last 3 years, if they wanted to fire me, thats their prerogative.

No, it was almost dead while I was still there, we lost a bunch of huge contracts due to basically us saying we knew how to do branding and all this advertising shit when we really had no clue. A huge project by one of our biggest clients was put on indefinite hold as well.

From talking to people there now it sounds like nothing has changed, which is not a good compliment or a blow to me, because when I left it was already down the tubes. Most people there give them 6-9 months more time unless something rapidly changes.

wouldn't we have hit ten million posts a long time ago? oh wait, all your shit was deleted, that's right.

No, the postid seen in URLs counts all posts since inception since it is a unique ID. If you look at stats on teh front page, total posts visible on TA is still under 10,000,000. That is harder to track though.

and why are you proud of this milestone?

just to put things into context, one must realize that YOU were actively pursuing the possibility of having this very website and forum SHUT DOWN!

Not to go back on the past but that sh*tty teenage behavior in the past warrants you a lifetime right to STFU regarding all major stepping stone this forum may have come upon.

I got fired cause I said they sucked at running their company. They proved it to everyone else working there when they let me go.

You sound like one of those people that goes through five jobs in three years and complains that "this workplace had it in for me...", "this one just plain sucked...", "this one was populated by morons..."

Funny, those people never seem to realise that they're the problem.

Have you got another job since? Why not?

No, this was my first real job ever lol.

And I have not had one since, mainly because I am not trying that hard, trying just hard enough to meet unemployment requirements.

This place didn't have it out for me, I know I was stirring the pot, but only cause I wanted them to fucking do better!

My mom dont pay for shit, she is one of those perpetual student types, still in college when she is 50 something, studying whatever...

My dad pays for everything, and I got a job cause I could buy shit with out feeling guilty about mooching off my parents.

I still pay for pretty much everything my own, even on unemployment. I live pretty frugal at the moment.
