ah id love to do hawaii tho... trouble is, its not quite as cheap to get to from the UK as it is for you lot in america and canada.

but anyways.. ill be going to a travel agents tomorrow, and will most likely be coming home 1500 worse off. so ill let y'all know what we ended up booking... i dare it wont be half as exotic as half the places suggested in here tho lol

internet > travel agent

travel agent is easier, but if you cut out a middle man that gets comission you will save more.

Maldives is good year round and you can get non-stop flights from London to Male now. Getting to the resorts from there can be a bit of a pain but visitable year round.

Surprised at the number of people who said Fiji. My wife went a few years back and really didn't like it. One of the reasons we haven't bothered with it ourselves.

If you want something close and reasonable within Europe consider Croatia. Great scenery, easy to get to...done.

Not necessarily. Plenty of competition between London and LA, then you could book a separate ticket (leaving plenty of time for immigration, customs, check-in security) for the domestic hop.

hawaii is amazing as well, of course. make sure to take some sight seeing tours, especially go to the luau, you can book those on probably any major travel site, amazing food, awesome atmosphere (you get to eat a huge pig roast). just don't go overboard on the tours, spend some time walking around the city, lots of cool places

Eh? Which city? If you are suggesting staying in Honolulu that's fucking dumb. I hated Honolulu.

Kauai and Maui (though the latter is a little cliched for honeymoons) would be a lot better. A long way from the UK but easily reached in one day. Fly from London to either San Francisco or LAX and you've got plenty of non-stops to Hawaii.

Tour packages are already being sold here, for around $9,000

yes. it's always a huge rip off. Your best bet is to see if england get it in 2018, stay with a ukta and get tickets if possible, by becoming a member of your nations official fanclub.

Greek Islands?
Turkey?
Zimbabwe?
Croatia?

Stay away from Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, etc. until Janurary-February - ish. It's their hurricane season.

Hawaii is too expensive for your budget.

Seriously look into my suggestions... you would be surprised at how beautiful those places are.

I would say budget you are on, I would go with Turkey, suppose to be some beautiful beaches. Other places to consider would be the Greek Islands or Ibiza - Ibiza town etc... (obviously not where the the young brits go!)

I didn't like Cyprus, found the people pretty rude, but it is a beautiful place.

Yeah, Thailand is beautiful, but the trouble that is happening over there at the moment is prob not worth the hassle, Also, places like Phi Phi and Phuket are full of tourists and its not as cheap as it used to be.

And just wanted to have a good honeymoon to remember.

I think the majority of suggestions aren't memorable... Everyones different I guess, but the thought of sitting on an isolated tropical beach for a week or 2 wouldn't interest me and be pretty forgettable.

Experiences like these for would be memorable...
Trip to Florida (all the themeparks etc), Safari in Africa, Visiting a few European cities, Trekking in the Himalayas...

There is more white trash redneck-ness at Busch Gardens in Tampa than any theme park I've ever seen... we're talking border line county fair type people. But the rides are awesome. Might have to tought it out.

Islands of Adventure is a good time... I'd choose that over Busch Gardens any day.

Posted by Rose on Sep-19-2009 17:25:

lol @ that igorant failure of a human being.

Islands of Adventure for a honey moon?! They should plan this for when they have kids or just for a vacation in general. Not a honey moon though

Posted by TranceOwnsLol on Sep-19-2009 17:33:

Phi Phi beach in Phuket (Thailand) as someone suggested isn't really good for honeymoons. Imo, Phuket is a sleazy city. If you want something really exclusive with not a lot of disturbances and a relaxing trip, go to Positano in Italy. Or Portofino, and take yacht trips there.

If you want a party atmosphere, go to St.Tropez, France.

I've been to Maldives myself and it's a pretty nice place for honeymoons I guess, but the beaches aren't that good when I compared them to beaches in the Philippines (Boracay, El Nido and Aman Pulo, specifically). They were just ordinary. The really nice thing about Maldives is its exclusivity.

So yeah, from the places I've been to, I'd recommend St.Tropez or Positano. I heard Croatia and Greece are nice as well so check those out too.

On the whole Phuket and Phi Phi are very touristy. If you did choose to go to SE Asia, have a look into the Perenthian Islands in Malaysia, or consider Borneo or the Phillys (Boracay..)

Boracay is touristy also. Lost a lot of it's charm imo over the last few years.

I went to Phi Phi about 9 years ago and found it to be far too full of tourists and not well looked after. Stunning scenery but just not well looked after, I hope it has changed since then. Also more of a daytrip/overnight stop than a final destination IMO.

Despite what others have said there are several nice resorts on Phuket, you don't need to go to Patong Beach or the larger towns.

so many photoshop'ed pictures , at least post something from an amateur tourist camera or something, get the real picture of the place.
