Its a nice headphone mix, there is a lot of detail in the mixes. But if you take away the insane sound quality, its kinda flat as an album. And avg track is only 4-6 mins with only 8 tracks, skimpy.

A much better LP?

Seduce Me
2010 (2010 EP)
Rorschache Game
Globe
Violet (2010 EP)
Dark&Sticky
Bound
White (2010 EP)

And use the remaining tracks that are in this album as an EP before the album, saving the 3 tracks from the 2010 EP for this album. Not only would it have been a more enjoyable and album for more people, but I think it would helped Redshape get into more hearts and minds. That said, someone like me can still enjoy this album and its probably going to grow on me if I listen through headphones, looking into the details. Which reminds me of Stimmings album that was enjoyable at the nuance level and had decent musical values that quite a few fought to paint as "repetitive, bland, boring", when this album fits that description if your the average listener that ignores the details and sound quality.

Shut up Kismet.

Kismet seems to know how everyone should do everything at all times.

NO.

A reasonable reality is certainly not one that conforms to every opinion and view you yourself generate.

What the heck are you even saying here? If you disagree with my sound reasoning, why not make a case for your disagreement.

Posted by enydo on Nov-05-2009 20:51:

My point is basically you can't always get what you want. People have different ideas and opinions than you, prattling on about how things "should have been done" does not really make any difference, does it?

Start a blog.

/Actually, I'm definitely in the wrong here, this is a "discussion" forum. I'm just kind of over seeing your gigantic blocks of self-indulgent text proclaiming exactly how an artist could have done better.

Well its obvious you missed the discussion purpose when you joined this forum. And creating a better scenario for an albums success is kinda part of what a release discussion can go over. And its good practice for me, since i'll likely have to run my own label someday. So i'm always practicin my MOVES

See..now you're being reasonable. Reasonable reality party FTW.

Shut up enydo, he's a signed artist now.

But then again, so is Richard Durand.

You sooo cheeeky.
Do share what your future looks like...Moooaar trolling the streets of TA with homies as a pasttime?

Cause, who knows, in a year or two, when i'm busy doin remixes and releasing EPs, maybe doin a nice international gig or two a month, you and your boyfriends are still going to be here stroking eachother and trolling TA, right?

I did edit my post before your post, so don't get the wrong idea.

If that's how you think your future is going to end up, then more power to you, congratulations. That doesn't mean we have to be any less annoyed or any more awed by your presence.

christ on a bike, hard to resist that invitation;p

I planned on going to see Redshape play, but as it turns out it's the first time he'll do a dj-set in Holland. Are his dj-sets any good?

Posted by Seppuku on Nov-05-2009 23:12:

Why not go find out?

Posted by Slipmat on Nov-06-2009 11:04:

Judging by the samples, my favourites are Man Out of Time, Globe and Dead Space Mix. Going to buy this.

Sure, I can always assume he does play a lot of his own stuff and just go, but if it turns out that his dj-sets are a lot different (and by different I kind of mean bad), then maybe it's better to save time and money. And I'll have to work the next day, so it would suck if the night turned out crappy.

Though I know you can never precisely know upfront how the night's going to turn out.

Went into this thread to read about Redshape's new album and for some reason most of it seems to be taken up by you going on about how great you are. You appear to be getting very carried away with yourself, particularly with this last statement. From what you have said, you have had one EP to date. That gives you no platform whatsoever to presume you will have a successful career in the music industry. Almost any Joe Soap can get an EP released these days....and for your information, production comes through practice and little else....just because someone doesnt have the time/interest to take up production and persue music as a career, doesnt mean that you are in anyway above them. Fair play to you getting your debut EP signed, but before posting again, for your own sake please take a minute to put your achievements into context with the real world.

Well...if you did not have your head in a tight place, and actually read the thread, you would realise I did not bring up my EP up at all in this thread, people like you and your friends did, so I replied to that.

And why you gotsta hate cuz I believe in myself, I mean I do have some skills and the music to drive the moderate success I described. And if you dont believe me, all I gotta say is "just watch me do it biaaatch." And its not like I said i'm going to be on the Top 100 DJ list anytime soon, nub.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-06-2009 20:08:

still awaiting that set you were supposed to do like a year ago.

you can't get an international gig by just playing your 2 tracks that you have done on repeat in winamp you know.
