and i do, granted it sometimes has a motive other than giving behind it. For instance doing "habitat for humanity" is a great way to make contacts that can help with work, because a lot of the volunteering is done through a corporate level. Working with these people and shooting the shit with them as you volunteer opens doors for other things.

the fact that someone less fortunate gets something out of the deal too is just the cream on top.

i donate a good amount of money to mira (dogs for the blind) and centraide (help less fortunate families). It feels good, but so does the tax break

Jan 2008 my apartment was robbed, they stole my watch collection, my 2 week old PS3, digital camera, and a bracelet while I was in VT snowboarding for the day. For some reason they decided to not steal my blow, trees, or other various drugs. I did however find my sneakers in different corners of my apartment!

i was going to volunteer at the humane society or something. this was a while ago and he kind of discouraged me from doing it.

patrick is very anti-social and doesn't really care much/have sympathy for "people" and doing things like sitting at a bar talking with people and strangers all night (aka spending money) unless he knows it will benefit him or me at some point in the future. it's like he's TOO practical. for example, bums piss him off and he usually tells them to fuck off if they come to his window at an intersection whereas if i have a buck, i'll give it to them if i'm in a good mood. i think being with me has made him loosen up a bit in that aspect because i'm a total social butterfly and love coordinating group activities with other couples and dinner parties and i'm generally a compationate person. he's grown to accept it and even has fun once in a while lol

i guess he's just one of those types who only cares/loves himself and his close loved ones and everyone else can fuck off. but trust me, he doesn't walk around w/ an attitude that would let anyone know that he is like that at all. he's very easy going and easy to like. i'm sure you'll meet us one day and you'll see.

also nou...i was describing patrick first and then you quoted me and said something about how that's why jay & i fight and we'd be perfect for each other. i just assumed it was because you think jay is like how i was describing my boyfriend. what is so hard to understand about that? if i was off, then sorry i guess i just misunderstood what you were getting at.

Posted by Rose on Sep-25-2009 19:28:

So he's anti-social unless he sees benefits in the long wrong but has loosened up a bit? I'm a social butterfly too lol we'll see whenever we hang out. I don't have your number.

Posted by lenazi on Sep-25-2009 19:28:

you are totally false about this stereotype. I should know, i live in french canada. Don't paint everyone with the same brush you paint your boyfriend with.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 19:32:

i dont. i just meant the whole part about french canadians being frugal when it comes to money. u guys ARE known for that lol

i love french canadians and his whole crew. awesome, awesome people. i've pretty much alienated most of my stupid flakey miami friends and have adopted his crew as mine. and dont even get me started on his parents. i love them almost more than my own parents.

yea he said i have taught him a lot and he is a lot less selfish than he used to be. remember when i said i love him drunk? lol he is so much more fun when he's drunk because he loosens up more and stops analyzing the situation thinking, "wtf are we doing at this stupid bar with these idiots spending $15 a pop on these weak ass fucking drinks"

he'd rather spend the money on a day trip to the keys with me and our friends that's all.

I got robbed at knife point by two nigs when I used to sell the green.

Only a ****** would rob you for weed you are selling at wholesale prices.

Posted by Scottaculous on Sep-25-2009 19:47:

The only time I got robbed was during lunch time in my HIGH SCHOOL. Ahhhh good ole Brooklyn. <3

maybe the french canadians that come from poor backgrounds or don't have that much money would be frugal (which would be normal for people from anywhere right? ), but most french canadians that i know are constantly givers, people that fight to take the check at restaurants, and at christmas give more gifts than anyone else.

once again, the brush, don't use it for everyone.

i don't even consider myself to be french canadian but i am pretty sure i know about 99.9% more french canadian people than you.

blondes are known for making silly assumtions.

Posted by lenazi on Sep-25-2009 19:51:

also have you ever considered that "the whole crew" act really similar because they are good friends? In general birds of a feather flock together.

not to mention that the city of montreal has more bars per city block than almost any other major city on earth. If they didn't go, they wouldn't be there.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 19:59:

yea of course i have considered that lol i hear lots of stories and comparisons from his crew about how it is in canada compared to here and it sounds awesome in canada. also, they are a breath of fresh air at the hotel i work at. love it when we have nothing but frenchies as guests. they are so nice and never complain and have no problem paying extra fees for towel rental, etc... like most of the locals bitching about it. but the french canadians down here are generally known for not tipping and stuff like that. that's all i meant.

also, patrick did not grow up poor at all. they lived in a regular nice house and his mom was a stay at home mom cooking gourmet meals every night, waiting for him to get home from school, etc... not sure where you keep getting that from.

*edit* i'm not saying french canadians are cheap sorry if im coming off like that. they are just really really practical from what i hear. big difference. patrick isn't cheap at all and has no problem spending money on whatever makes us happy but he's also really smart about money and practical and has told me "no" many times when i wanted to buy something stupid or go on a vacation when it wasn't a good time.

Posted by Danny Ocean on Sep-25-2009 20:01:

he wasnt referring to ur bf being poor in particular, he was saying those cheap qualities generally come from poor french canadians.

Posted by lenazi on Sep-25-2009 20:02:

you just make him sound like he is really cheap. The only cheap frenchies i know here tend to be the poor ones in general. I used to tend bar when i was younger, i don't have breasts, and still made a ton of money.

i'm not trying to argue really, only that from reading your posts i came to a conclusion that you were making a false generalization is all.

You could ask allied nations who is not from here but calls the city home, for an un biased opinion if you want. I'm pretty sure he would back me up.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 20:02:

oh ok. nevermind then. i just assumed he was taking a jab at me as usual.

or poor any "insert area that you come from here".

that is all i am trying to say. Sure there are anomalies on both sides of the coin, but on average i am willing to bet anything that this is the case.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 20:05:

he had a great life in canada money-wise as a kid, but has never really been a baller or anything since coming to america so i'm sure the practical thing is something that just came natrually as an adult to him because he's not a millionaire or a moron living above his means to impress people.

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 20:06:

anyway enough about patrick lol the bottom line is he's a cool laid back mofo and i love french canadians

Posted by Amduscias on Sep-25-2009 20:15:

So TA does revolve around slylee

Posted by Slylee on Sep-25-2009 20:19:

how do you figure? because people kept asking me for further explanations about myself/my bf and i replied? lol you're a smart one aren't u
