billy smith
ron hextall
chris osgood
jose theodore

needs to be at yankee stadium or citifield next year wai. make it happen.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Dec-30-2009 01:11:

i wonder if they have a contingency plan.

rain is too dangerous for hockey.

i'll walk down the hall and lay down the law...on a sad note i figured out today the draft is in LA this season. clearly i'm not so infuencial, with that said my train leaves boston on the first so the game better happen

Posted by Schadenfreude on Dec-30-2009 21:54:

under $200 or at least that's how much i paid.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Dec-31-2009 18:50:

thanks.

that is crazy, i can get a return flight from mtl for less.

thinking of doing some hab road games in '10.

cheaper to take the bus from NYC to Boston

www.megabus.com
www.boltbus.com

Posted by Schadenfreude on Dec-31-2009 19:48:

yeah, i hate the bus though, too many weirdos...don't even get me started on the port authority station

Posted by chimera66 on Jan-02-2010 05:17:

the bus is fine, normal people use it. the subway is what should bother you. today i had the displeasure of riding 11 stops next to a seemingly racist paranoid schizophrenic who kept threatening people.

lol

The Winter Classic was a hit! I really really like how they set up the rink. Hats off to the Boston people.

As far as the Habs go, things are awesome. Since Markov got back we have been winning like crazy. The Habs just locked up a 7 game road trip with a win in Florida. Had anyone told me that they would get 12 points out of a possible 14, i would have laughed at them.

This team is just going to get better now that it is almost 100% healthy.

the winter classic was great, fantastic atmosphere and unpredictable ending. as for putting it on like an all star game it is planned and executed by the league not the team.

then hats off to Bettman for finally doing something properly.

I really liked the new rules to stop clutching and grabbing through the neutral zone.

Before Bettman, I was getting really REALLY tired of watching guys get tackled on the rush, it was stupid.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-07-2010 17:05:

yeah the new rules are good, but the officiating is still atrocious.

I hate Bettman for bringing hockey to markets that it has 0 place in, and watering down the game by doing so. I would be a fan of contracting 5 teams..the quality of the game would go way up.

at the moment i'd rather watch this guy train on a monday morning than watch an nhl playoff game

i have been waiting for a player like this all my life, gotta watch him now before his passion for playing turns into passion for making dollars.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-18-2010 16:16:

to be fair would you say no to the money? or to playing with and against the best in the world? Passion is nothing if you can't see if it leads you measuring up to the best.

ps habs fucking suck hard.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-18-2010 16:23:

fast forward to 1 minute.

dirty.

i'm all for it. but can you imagine how fucking much it sucks that everytime we have a prospect like this he plays for one, two seasons tops over here, and his whole prime is spent over there.

i see potential and possibilities, i wanna see players damnit.

it's as simple as this, we raise, you enjoy.

and every spring all our best teams lose their best players to khl etc.. mid-fucking-season. imagine your team had a goalie that won you like 27 games out of the first 30, only to be bought by the russians.. mid-fucking-season. even the swedish league is 20 times tougher than we are atm. and the worst part is that we simply can't compete when it comes to salaries.

there are less and less finns in the nhl every year...although the khl does not improve your odds either.

no shit

and keep in mind that only the best go to nhl & khl. the ones that are just above average end up in switzerland or sweden, so you can imagine what an amateur-league we have atm

but i still dare say that when it comes to goalies, ain't nobody gonna touch us

btw.. who would you (ALL OF YOU) pick as finlands starting goalie in the olympics?

i have some minor issues regarding kipper due to his past in the nationals

i was about to make a thread for vancouver, but then i remembered that i suck.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-18-2010 18:21:

quebec goalies beat finland goalies hands down sorry

it is not even close either.

that being said, team finland would be insane not to start Backstrom.

rinni, kipper are good, although kipper is getting shittier and shittier every year.

are you honestly trying to say that finland has a goalie the likes of brodeur, luongo, or fleury? you crazy man.

tell me why a finnish goalie has never won a stanley cup then

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jan-18-2010 18:24:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/va...30041/index.htm

40% of the nhl's goalies come from one province...not even a country
