Came in with low expectations because the only other time I've seen Tiesto was at CiRCA and that was quite disappointing to say the least. The first hour to hour and a half was really up and down. Good track, cheese, cheese, good track etc.. Considering he didn't play any classics at CiRCA and played Flight 643, Adagio, Silence & Traffik - I walked away satisfied. The light show/setup was pretty interesting to watch. When the sound cut out I had a really tough time getting back into the music after that. What a buzz kill!
I really liked the venue too. Easy to get to, free parking and they had a large variety of food and drink to buy inside.. even though I didn't take advantage. Except for up near the front the crowd was pretty spread out and I wouldn't say the place was more than half full at the most. The next/last time I see Tiesto will likely be in Ibiza
... and he didn't play sandstorm
Biggest complaint of the night - absolutely no prior notice was given in regards to not allowing fireworks in. Where's the consideration??

So glad I didn't go...last great Tiesto set was @ The Docks on December 11th, 2004; 7.5 hours of total madness!!!

2004...very good times that night
think that's the last time i saw him
First off, thank you to tranceaddict for the free VIP tix... I've never won anything before, it was pretty awesome winning. We got there and walked to the willcall line and told them my name under the tranceaddict guestlist, and they're like "your name isn't on this list"... Were like, "fuuuck we just got conned!" Then he proceeds to say "your name is on the VIP list".... and so our night began
Yes it's true, all-ages sucks.... But everyone that went knew it was all ages so stop complaining about it. Any club you go to, you're gonna find young ammateur partyers who can't handle their alcohol/drugs... It's inevitable._
The venue was pretty sick. I've never been to arrow hall but I must say it did the job. It reminded me of the trance room at Bal en Blanc... It was huuuuuge with a massive stage and back drop, the vendors selling party favours along the sides.... Kinda reminded me of how raves used to be back in the day.
As for Tiesto's set and performance, I loved it! I've seen him a gazillion times, with my first in 2000, and I've never seen him so interactive with the crowd before. He basically was putting on a show... It was a full on concert promoting his Kaledeiscope album- we knew that. The first half of his set was mostly his new tracks off the album, which sounded very "British rock/ pop-ish to me... I enjoyed it. Then he started playing some tracks off his ISOSs... Then he played Chakalaka and it was really funny cuz I started going nuts and no one knew what song it was, lol. Shortly after he ripped it with a crazy remix of Beautiful Day - U2... (If anyone can ID that remix for me, I'll love u forever!!) _It was sooooooo good- the highlight of my night of course
! He played crowd favourites and went on the mic a couple times saying "hello torontooooo"... Lol.
Towards the end of his set, he said he had 15 min left and he wanted everyone "to go craaaazy"... So we did, and then he fucked us by jetting off the stage 5 min later. I mean, WTF!?!? If you say you're gonna be on for 15 more min, then fucking play some tunes for 15 more minutes!!!! Press play for god sakes, I dong care, just play some tunes and don't walk off the stage... Everyone honestly thought he was going to come back on for a few more min... Nope. Night was over.
Overall it was still an awesome set with great vibe, but my only complaint would be how he ended his set.
Crowd vibe - 8/10
Venue - 9/10
Tiestos set - 8.5/10

It was definitely a fun night out.
~C~ said it best. Seeing Tiesto isnt a "dj gig" anymore. It's pretty much a concert. Same visual effects as the night before, more or less the same songs played from city to city in the same order so that they can play the visuals accordingly. You cant really expect anything more than that.
Paying $100 for VIP (which i didnt even figure out what made them VIP other than a seperate entrance)or $50 for GA's is pretty steep but hey...the guy can demand it and people still pay it so you cant expect to get charged any less.
You're basically going to this kind of event and you're going to get make or break your own night. Are you going to go and bitch about "all the teenie boppers" and "his horrible dj-ing skills"? or are you going to go, get drunk and listen to some tracks thats going to get a huge reaction out of the crowd.
At the end of it all, remember...its fun, but its not a DJ gig.
Seems like the only people that had fun were the ones that were expecting a concert.
That being said....i had an awesome time. (plus, my vip tickets were free)

Highlight of the night was seeing the hijabi girl jump up and down.

Originally posted by gilboman i thought it was pretty good, better than my expectations after the debacle at circa last year. Tiesto played some good tracks and it was enjoyable overall, much better than some rammed club where you can't even move. drinks weren't expensive, beer was $9 but it was tallboy sized, there was no lineup to get in, or coat check, lots of washrooms.

Staying in the line up was a blast, I was told by everyone that tiestor is number 1 in the world, and even awesome stories on how he gives out his headphones after the set. He is basically like jesus, with more humanitarian and awesome mixing skills.

Originally posted by Beings I went simply to check out the venue. Very very spacious, lots of parking easy to get to. Even though it was all ages, a lot of older crowd. Very few groups of teeny boppers. He is basically like jesus, with more humanitarian and awesome mixing skills. Got in around 10:30. Someone was playing some techy'ish house. The crowd still chanted Tiesto every 5 seconds. One guy was bent on trying to make me go deaf yelling into my ear. I think Tiesto started around 11:20ish. intro was decent. Some classics were played, but a lot were remixed. Liked the fact that he ended the set at around 2:50. People started chanting for him to come back for an encore. Of course he never showed up. Anyways, it was as expected. Good venue tho.

will never forget it
I didn't go but to all who went and had a good time...good on ya!
Looking at the tracklist seems like Tiesto played more house in Ibiza than at Arrow hall, which is ok! but still the Tiesto of 2000-2003 will NEVER BE so ppl need to suck it up and deal!
I was also surprised to see some ppl go to this event when I have heard them bash Tiesto and his events in the past

was there, had a good time (made the best of what was being offered). The venue was enjoyable, sound system was tuned well (not too loud and lack of echoing bass). only heard 1 small trainwreck from him for the time i was there. The figure he was gettin paid for that gig is ridic..but expected. left just before 230 and there were already tons of ambulances lined up, police cruisers, and paddy wagons with heavily dressed cops pulling. a kid was getting hauled out via a stretcher as i was leaving..
in any case, now ive seen tiesto and been to a large room event like that. mission accomplished lol
