everyone knows the technics' qualifications. Those stantons however, aren't as POS as you think. In fact, Ministry of Sound has replaced their technics with Stanton ST-100's. They do have more features, and the specifications do stand up. If they're as reliable and durable as technics, it has yet to be determined.

Hey hey, no need to be calling names now. Don't get all worked up because he has a job and money to spend. It's his money after all.

again, you're probably getting the 100's confused with the 80's or 60's. Stanton has put out a competitor to the 1200 with its str8-100 and st-100. similiar to the vestax decks and the numark ttx-1 or whatever.

uhm, that would just cost more money. Thats a silly suggestion. He has the equipment, and he's happy with it. REmember, his money... not yours...

the only reason I got involved in this anyways, because I felt I had to stand up for him from you calling him and idiot and whatnot. I don't think its neccessary to be calling him names, especially when I don't see anything wrong with what he did. :P Although he should've been warned about the brokerage fees. Everyone learns.

BTW, there is the DJ Booth forum on this board, with tons of experienced DJ's who can give you advice on equipment and stuff. These guys are really helpful.

Thanx for your help but I am a big boy too. Oh and I know my stuff about my stantons. And yeah, you are absolutely right about the MOS replacing their Technics with the Stanton ST8-100's.

I guess some ppl are just to ignorant to know the facts before they get into an argument and start making up bullshit. Some ppl just never learn I guess.

Whatever... you still paid way more than you needed to.
PSSL is selling the Str8-100's for $299.99(us) right now.

(ignore the save $799.00 part... they say that pretty much about anything the sell-- their retail is normally $100 more on their turntables if they aren't on sale)

STANTON STR8100 DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE
Save $499.01 When You Buy Now!
List Price: $799.00
Our Price: $299.99

The Straight Tone Arm Virtually Eliminates Skipping

The STR8-100 is Stanton's super high-torque professional turntable. If you're serious about your mix then consider this high torque direct drive turntable with 3 turntable speeds (33-1/3,45 and 78 RPM). The height adjustable straight tone arm virtually eliminates skipping to keep you in the groove. There's a selectable pitch control of +/-8%, +/-16% or +/-25%, a manual pitch bend with up to 6% adjustment, plus a key adjust. Other important features include a reverse motor function and motor off switch, 3.5mm line input for portable MP3 and CD players, digital and analog outputs, selectable phono or line outputs, a remote start/stop input, and an aluminum face plate with retractable target light. Included with the turntable are a headshell, slipmat, and hook up cables.

Were you joking??

As for the rest of the stuff you said, I think you need to learn how to create constructive criticism and not argue like an 8 year old. Show some support, trancearmada could be our next local TA DJ

buddy, do you know anything about PSSL and a little thing called currency conversion?

I tried dealing with PSSL, but they don't really seem to give a shit about Canadian customers. I dealt with them for over 2 weeks in coresponding emails and phone calls. And they were just being arrogant fucks about everything and they wanted to charge me something like $150 USD for shipping. Aprox. $230 CAD. In addition to that they did not want to fulfill their 110% price guarante! So I told them to fuck off, and that I won't be doing any more business with them!

$299.99 USD = $457.18 CAD
$299.99 x 2 = $914.37 CAD

check here if you don't trust me: http://quote.yahoo.com/m5?a=299.99&s=USD&t=CAD

and that's what I paid exactly at DJ Depot but at the time when I was trying to order them PSSL carried them at $349.99 US, I guess they lowered their price after I told them about the cheaper price at DJ Depot. Since those ******s at PSSL did not want to fulfill their guarantee to me. But now the price is lowered what a coincidence?

So what exactly are you trying to prove to me now? That you don't know anything about PSSL and the fact that you don't know jack about the currency conversion? I would not want to put you down like that but you started bashing me in the first place. So?

well, its not all about features... it's all about durability and feel... well "feel" being the most important one of all for me... too many features also mean more things that can go wrong, might not, but can, time will tell i guess... techincs though combine the both and that's why they're the best and have been around for so long... well, i'm glad i got a pair of 1200s because i had an opportunity to try out stantons and vestax pdx 2000 and those 2 just don't feel right for some reason... as for staton's torque, do you really need more torque, too much is bad too, unless you're a scratch dj, i guess...

anyways, just my thoughts on the subject...
