Actually, I thought it was inevitable he'd do it the first time, reason why I thought it would be a good idea if he manned up and spoke to her. I don't think he'd be any better if he didn't speak because he'd then be in ignorance about what her feelings are/were. If he's still dwelling on this however, it says more about his need to meet new girls than the fact that he opened up 5 years ago.

Has it been that long already? Jesus Christ, I've been here for too long...

I knew he'd go and tell her, but I also think that her reaction was just as inevitable. This shit is textbook; it's one case of biology being just as predictable as physics. Whether he told her or not, the result would have been more or less the same--the only thing it stood to affect was their friendship, and when it comes to that I think this right here tells the story:

Also we were friends for many years after that, but we kept getting in fights, usually because any time we'd argue about ANYTHING she'd randomly toss up "blah blah blah I have a boyfriend you need to realize that, I can't return your feelings" when that had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING.

In any event, at this point that chapter is over. He either moves on or he doesn't. Nowhere is it written that everyone shall pair up in retarded little couples and live happily ever after. In any case, it's not really much of a problem. There are plenty of people out there like myself who aren't in a serious relationship and aren't looking to be in one in the foreseeable future. Is it a little pathetic if his reason for eschewing romance is because he's hung up on some girl who he never had any real chance with? Sure, but most people in traditional romantic relationships are in them for pathetic reasons, anyway. So he's not really any more pathetic than your average person. That's why what he really needs to do is stop feeling sorry for himself.

sounds like shes got you by the balls, well.. not really since you're not getting any from her

stop being a stupid weak bitch, grow a sack and get your dick wet and forget about her. fuck she might even be attracted to you at this point. no-one wants to put up with whiny emotional shit.. what are you a child? be a man plus she's not even that hot

NOU, ARE YOU STILL A VIRGIN?

answer me. if you are, the reason you're being such a whinging fag is obvious and you need to just go fuck something, for your own sanity.

Hah, so you too thought it was inevitable

And, I do agree with you. The reason why I told Cliff to open up and take it off his chest is because I reckoned he'd snap out of it afterwards as this kind of behaviour rarely (if ever) leads to a successful relationship (but, even if his chances were slim, I felt he had to do something about it: what if it worked out? We don't know the girl ).

And, though sometimes it seems we think very much alike (at least regarding to Nou), I once again have to disagree with you out of sheer optimism: If both people in a relationship are actively pursuing a life in common, can you really say anything about their reasons for doing that?

But, despite this disagreement, I agree with you about this being so common a problem that this overblown drama now sounds like nothing but self-pity. And, once again, I kind of wish I could help him snap out of it.

Don't waste your time like that mate . tell her how you feel about this situation.

if she just wants to be your friend , at least you got it out of the way and you can move on , I know you don't want to loose the hope of someday measuring her oil level . but life is just too fucking short dude
