If a DJ flies in from the other side of the world, has the crowd pumped, and people are screaming "one more" then I believe they should be allowed extra time or even to close out the night. I can't count the number of times that a guest DJ has virtually been shoved off the stage by some local DJ who plays at the clubs here on a regular basis.
I mean, most of these DJ's travel 12 hours plus on the plane, deal with the nightmare of LAX, customs, TSA, etc. just to come play for us. If they have the crowd going wild and the floor is still packed, they deserve to be respected and treated like royalty far as I'm concerned.
Then again, if the place is emptying out and people everywhere are yawning, or the headlining DJ doesn't want to stay, bring on the closer!

Was a fun night at Circus, the music was all over the place as others have mentioned...I think Askew realized it was going to be 200 bpm by the end of the night if something didn't change, so he mixed in some slower but amazing quality tracks. Not to say all the tracks were stellar, but I had that "omg this is so good" feeling many times during the night, mostly because of the music!
I was on the floor until 4, so something must have gone right. The back room was a mess, however...the fashion show was over by the time I got to Circus, but the lights in the other room were still up full strength with white "glowing" curtains separating the rooms. There was also a small square area semi-closed off with black curtains and a light shining sideways into this area. Without knowing there had been a fashion show earlier, I thought this was part of the "office party" theme and they were trying to make it look like an office! Would have been much better if the lights had been turned down or off in the other room and the "changing booth" moved away into the other room. I think most people were just trying to figure out what was going on, then walked back to the main room since it was so odd back there...
The people in the main room had a lot of energy, everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun, and was a nice crowd on top of that!
Lighting was not very good for pics, especially the DJ booth, but a few came out o.k.

Interesting night. I was impressed by Askew. Thought I'd hear some different tunes from him but he really laid it down. Carson and Andr3x really brought it after Askew played. Hearing LED There Be Light that fast was really amazing
gotta love high bpm uplifting/tech and all that jazz. =D

Picture Time!
Here's a link to MY PHOTOS from John Askew @ CIRCUS! Enjoy
SWEETNUTS IN THE HOUSE!!!
Sorry playing 142 @ 10pm shows no respect for the headliner unless they typically play at a higher BPM.
Wasn't feeling the opening Dj at all. Imo his set kept going and going and going.
When Askew came on I had no idea what to expect. This was my first time seeing him. He came one and played even harder! His tracks where all over the place a long with his mixing. Sure there where 1 or 2 great tracks in the mix. But I need more then that. So I bounced at around 12:30
It was great seeing everyone again though.

I'm sure the go-go's are nice girls and I know they work really hard, but I'm going to have to disagree with A) how hot they were and B) how good they were. This was actually a discussion early in the night. I have seen much better. Would've preferred none this time actually.
