Seems like most misread the thread title as "Post names of talentless producers no one gives a rat's ass about".

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Oct-26-2009 19:34:

Shh, be quiet, don't disrupt the back-patting session.

You are just not with it and hip, man. Might as well check yourself into the old folks home now.

What are you talking about? The people being mentioned are all coming from different parts of the spectrum, so I don't see how it can be construed as back-patting. And what happened to your "no whining" policy from a page or two page?

Probably because you aren't listening to 90% of the music being made. Although I'm no fan of much of it, and I've still heard of most of the producers in this thread.

Best Producer of the Year:

Dusty Kid

Worst Producer of the Year:

The guys that are responsible for Tiesto's new longplayer.

Duh. I just think it's a bit funny how out of touch I am.

Hmm? What do you think I'm "whining" about?

I was just poking fun, and I don't think those guys are "hipsters" anyway. If you are reading a little barb like that as an expression of rage or resentment, you are off base.

Posted by idoru on Oct-26-2009 20:40:

Fuck all of those MNML hipster fags that don't really listen to MNML and aren't really hipsters at all. Fuck, how I hate each and every one of them. They really make life on this planet uncomfortable. *hate stabs*

Are we misinterpreting that, or does he really think the whole UK has one nightclub that runs weekly, and it's the Ministry Of Sound? In a blog where he moans about the demise of the underground and rampant commercialism, no less?

Read the article. He is talking about specialist nights. A lot of people who have been part of this scene since the 90s share this feeling. He is not alone and I hate to sound pessimistic too but it really all comes down to this: this scene is a thing of the past. A lot of labels have not put anything out for years! A lot of producers threw in the towel a long time ago. There is no money in this any more. The ''digital revolution'' was a coup.

doop had a strong year. i really like their new new whitelabel called "doop".

Absolutely, you are 100% correct and there is no way anything contrary to your opinion exists anywhere in the entire universe.

This is crap and you know it.

There are still plenty of nights with people enjoying themselves, DJs spinning music they love, and producers making the tracks they want to make. You may not like the current sounds in dance music all that much -- I don't care for them, either, personally -- but that says nothing about the health of "the scene." Dance music didn't "die" or become a "thing of the past" just because you stopped liking recent stuff.

Maybe you can recognize that, move on, and stop all this useless moaning and groaning.

With that said, it has to be an artist Domesticated recommended to me - Abdomen Burst. He's only just started producing in 2009, and just about everything he's touched has been gold. Syntagma was a bomb, Moments Of Love and Sky In Hands were beautiful, and his remixes of Cloudsurfers and Come To Me were atmospheric loveliness.

I must be even smarter than I though - I'm able to recommend artists I've never even heard of.
