I was disappointed in both the Fedde & A&B set. I'm not really a fan of Fedde le Grande's style of house so that was no surprise. It felt like A&B played no high energy tracks throughout the entire night. Just a bunch of overplayed low energy trance tracks from there label.

I still had lots of fun despite the music because Roseland is my favorite venue being in costume is always fun.

It's good that the party ended early. They might have been forced to end the party after that girl had the seizure/OD & put us all on lockdown like the Love incident.

Alright heres the file with a play by play:

I only used claud9 and cosmic gate because i don't own the K&A track. However i did take a youtube vid and matched both songs with it to see the results. Same key. Same bassline.

Keep in mind also, i did no editing what so ever. Just threw both tracks in the CDJs, beat matched them and Pressed play at the same time.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/bdwa4k

1. Once the bassline hits (Around 7 seconds in) i have the bass on Cosmic turned up, and Claud9 turned down.

2. At around 17 Seconds in i switch the bass. Giving Claud9 the bass turned up, and Cosmic Gate Turned down.

3. Switch again around 35 seconds.

4. Cut Claud9 volume completely at 45 seconds.

5. Cut Cosmic and bring Claud9 back in at the end of the clip.

Interesting right?

Honestly, both are good songs. So i have no complaints. Just found it really interesting.

just some clarification: before everyone continues bashing how A&B played, please remember that this was the Anjunabeats Volume 7 launch party for the USA (i think its on Ultra Records here) even if it was advertised as a halloween bash by made. for those that haven't had the pleasure of listening to vol 7, once you do, you will see why they weren't playing 136bpm+.

i think i might be the only one who really had an excellent time, hahaha. i even got a thumbs up from tony and jono for my vol 7 tshirt on the side of the stage.

I'm always surprised when they won't allow atleast one more song, but the reality is that once the bar closes there's no more money coming in and every minute they're losing on security costs. Lame I know, but unfortunately it's the way things are..

Glad to hear Zack and Fedde rocked though!

This is what most likely happened. It isn't the first event that closed sooner than expected. I have seen A&B more than a few times. That isn't how they would close out their set. If you take into consideration that their set started a half hour late and they were supposed to be on for a three hour set, we missed at least a half hour of what they planned. It looked to me like it was more of Roseland and/or Made shutting it down.

This. I saw a few EMTs in and out of there the whole time. Depending on the reason for the other calls, that girl would have put a big wrench in it. I hope she's ok though.

We had a great night. Zack was fucking great and Fedde killed it. People had high expectations of A&B because of how great the music was before they went on. About the 21+, it isn't going to happen. They would not have been capable of pulling a full venue on 21+, based on seeing how many 18-20 yo there were. I also think the people you chill with are a big factor of a good night, that's why I make sure there are always super awesome people around me that want to have a good time.

The night was good glad I was hanging with good friends last night so that saved the night for me. The 2 openers were just OK .. dont really care for their style and music choices and them playing for like 5 hours was way too much IMO. By the time Above and Beyond came on I was so drained and out of energy I needed a few Red Bulls to pick me up .. but at $8 a can man WoW

Above and Beyond was great last night. Nice tracks and great mixing. Only wish they played way longer. Have some cool pics on my mysapce page.

See you all next time

Album launch parties don't necessarly mean that they only spin tracks off their new album. Take Tiesto for instance. Can you imagine a set at Hammerstein where he spins only Kalidescope tracks. He mixes them up for the first half of his set then bangs out his last 2 hours with stuff that has nothing to do with the album.

So many DJs have fantastic radio shows loaded with all these promos. (including Above & Beyond) You know they have the music. But instead of hearing these new different sounds we're stuck with the same overplayed tracks.

Time of my life... I loved it, GREAT vibe in there all night.

I'm sure the venue shut them down and wouldn't allow an encore...

Will post more later...

EXCELLENT night!

YES!!!! I got poked in the eye, and that was the final straw for me.

The closing time of Roseland was beyond A & B's control. Whenever there are two headliners shorter set times are to be expected, but I was expecting them to be on till 5AM but I guess they wanted everyone out of the venue BY 5AM instead.

Originally posted by DJ_Rafnel It sucks that people would boo and stuff. I mean come on. You got out of your house, to see some of the best DJs in the world do their thing for you. You have to understand that they flew 16+ hours or some odd number just to play for you. I think people should really appriciate this stuff more you know?

Not only that, but Tony was feeling very ill and still stuck it out to play for us anyway.

I think people were boo'ing the party being over, and no encore, not Above and Beyond.

They had that looped, but never got into the actual "song"... When I heard it i was going crazy...

But, i'd like to say once again that Fedde KILLED IT. Never had so much fun dancing... he had such great drops and the energy was out the roof! Does anyone have the TL of Fedde, or know where I can find it?

they didn't. 3 seconds of a song isn't enough to know for a fact that they played it. i thought they were playing it many times in the night and even told my friends but then realized they hadn't...it's also really not something they would play

i suppose that with such a loud sound system, sound definition is compromised and you think you're hearing a different bassline.

i really think they were saying " booo-URNS"

It was def worth paying $65 for A & B and Fedde, I like harder music so both sets were top notch

PEACE AND LOVE PEACE AND LOVE

I had a phenominal nite...I was super-impressed with Fedde Le Grand...he was dropping some siickkk beats...I actually said to a freidn that I wouldnt have minded if he played the whole nite he was that good...he KILLED IT!!

I was kind pissed the A&B came on at close to 2am stoppeed EXACTLY at 4am...which actually was 5am bc of daylight savings...

I thought they played a good mix of stuff..nothing to fluffy...I had a great time with great friedns and its a pleasure meeting yumpop (alex)..so much fun chillin with you and the hubby...def need to meet up in the future...

Damn that was fun.

I had actually never been to Roseland before Saturday, and must say, I love the place. It has such a perfect layout for big events like that. I love the fact that upstairs isn't completely closed off for VIP like a lot of other venues. While it was packed, walking around wasn't bad at all.

The dj booth/stage setup was absolutely perfect as well...can't really ask for anything better than that as a dj. Huge thanks to Made for putting the night together, and for having me play. I just had so much damn fun.

All in all though, I was most impressed with Fedde...although I admittedly heard more of him than Above & Beyond. He was really getting the crowd amped up...lots of huge buildups and massive basslines. He is apparently coming back in December...will definitely be checking him out that night.

Posted by princezhou on Nov-02-2009 19:55:

they were so nasty.... i was by the 2 light posts in the middle of the room when they dropped good for me... and i almost couldnt move at all glued to the floor... and jay was giving me a pretty nasty lightshow... after it i basically fell backwards. hehe

... i keep on forgetting my ta password and it doesn't have an option to send your password to your email so i keep on having to make new handles... this is like the 10th time...

Posted by princezhou on Nov-02-2009 20:00:

honestly besides when armin played roseland in 2004 and 2008... this had to have been the best experience at roseland... personally i just don't like roseland ballroom that much... i have been there at least 10+ time... and i was really really disappointed the last time i saw pvd there...

god i want the good old days of crobar back.... when tiesto and armin played crobar back to back days... oh man those were the DAYS... jesus christ.. i used to stay up for 2 days stright and then sleep for 3 days afterwards... the nice guys at the door at crobar actually carried me to my car one time and took my keys and gave them to my gf to hold...on the second night of tiesto... that was soo insane... i was COMPLETELY delerious... i actually thought that they somehow build a moving stage which moved back as people pushed against it... and in the morning i thought that they somehow opened the top of the building to allow the sunlight in... later i found out it was just rug induced psychosis... great times

Posted by princezhou on Nov-02-2009 20:06:

or when armin and pvd used to play the roxy... i remember on my 21st birthday on the day of my birthday armin played there... that was nasty too loved how the roxy was just one giant tunnle LOVED the vip room at the roxy...

the cube of sin at crobar and penalty box was pretty damn good too...

but the best HAS to be twilo... lol OPEN market

swing up and down the hand rails at spirit wasn't bad either...

they should just destroy m2 ultra lounge... damn place has been horrible ever since crobar closed... no matter what they change the damn name to...

and samething for pacha... it sucked ever since they closed down factory.... god i remember getting completely retarded and then falling into the little jacuzzi on the 3rd floor and the drying out in the quiet room in sound factory... god i was young back then... no problem staying 22 hours for a party at all... now after the 8 hour mark.. i am dragging ass....

the second day of electric zoo almost killed me...
i ended up in friggin burlington vermont after the party and didn't get home till tuesday night... lol

They played the original version at BeB... but i did not hear any version of this track on Halloween. No cosmic gate at all actually...

PS: Sucks that A&B got Booed at the end. Yes, they werent up to par, and the cut off WAY WAY early, but lets have some manners, people.

i dont think they deserved a boo , i know my boy shaolin was booing mad loud it was kinda funny tho.. just sucks that we had like an extra hour spite the late start~ man i wish deadmau5 wouldve been the halloween dj wouldve been the perfect theme , plus dark sets are so ridiculous!!!! maybe next year it will go dark prolly not tho

i think personally the best track i heard all night was either the activa track and the lange one , o well~!

the truth . thats why i always wander look for people who appreciate the music . indeed nontheless -.-

Posted by SebG on Nov-02-2009 21:28:

As far as booing goes, i dont think this was towards a&b, it was rather towards the lights turning on and show being over.

Did you notice how many skanked out girls walked around? I mean yeah, its eye candy, but some of them were over the top. I like sexy, but totally whored out is just targeting yourself as a total whore.
