Peaceeee out |
What are you? 11?

Oh, really? You don't? Maybe you forgot that you posted this...

Gee, sure doesn't look like you took it personally at all, huh?

Maybe it helps the music, the guy has had 22 Billboard #1s including 2 with me, so obviously something is working even if you're not feeling it... |
Just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's good. So you can make easily marketable music for the masses. That doesn't mean that we should all bow to you, so quit constantly posting about it, it only makes you look like an absolute pompous ass. Then again you're working with Dave Dresden, so that makes perfect sense.

hay mikael
how about a little sample of the bt remix?

Wow, this track is a complete copy of Some Polyphony, except not good.

Geez, you guys sure like to chew people up around here
Posted by Demoted on Nov-10-2009 00:16:
Hey man, I'm just here to make big fat sweaty Dave Dresden quips.
And apparently it's wrong to make fun of his ass burgers because Tracking Treasure Down was on Billboard charts and earned him enough cash to mix pot in a salad bowl.

I was finally able to listen to the sample now that I'm out of the office. Fucking hell, talk about blatant theft.

Well, I guess I should clarify. When people attack my friends personal lives I take it personally. If you don't like our music, or Dave's past music, or Josh's past music with Dave or my past music that's fine with me. Everyone has an opinion and you know what they say about opinions right? There's enough people that do like our music to keep us going until we're 80. I don't need your approval.
Sorry if you think I'm pompous for saying it like it is but the truth is the truth. If you don't like it then you don't have to chat with me.

Well I'd never heard the track until today (read back posts). If you don't like our track that's cool.
Have a nice day

Well, if someone writes something that derogatory and stupid they can only expect an equally derogatory response.
Wow there seems to be a lot of people that want to attack me on here who've never met me and then attack me again for defending my position. Seems like a lot of player haters to me...

Happens a lot on this forum. Lots of negativity here. I wouldn't let it get to you.
Some of us do appreciate the fact that you're willing to post here and talk about your tracks.
[And about synths, too.]
Posted by woscar on Nov-10-2009 00:53:
Whoa, you are quite the champion back-pedalist JBJ
Posted by evo8 on Nov-10-2009 00:53:
Would love to know what synths Petter used to make Some Polyphony

And hey, good for you. However, what you have to understand is that you're posting on an internet forum that is intended for the discussion of all views regarding music. That means that negative opinions about something are both allowed and expected. No musician has ever been able to please everybody, and you're just going to have respect the fact that some of us think that your music is utter shit.
If you can't handle differing opinions, then you're just going to have to stop posting here. If you feel confident about your music and that is has secured you until you're well into your eighties, then other peoples negative opinions shouldn't even matter to you and you shouldn't get butt-hurt about it.

I'm sure it's the truth, I'm not debating it. This, however, is a prime example of your attempt at drilling it into our heads and reminding us. Mention it once, sure! But don't make it a point to mention it in 75% of your posts; at that point, it sounds like you're bragging.

maybe but i'm actually not used to being attacked even when people don't like my music. comebacks aren't my specialty.

You shouldn't feel "attacked" just because somebody doesn't like your music. It's not a big deal that people just have different personal tastes. It's life. Get over it.

Thank you...Yes, I'm figuring that out. So from now on I'm only going to respond to the positive people on here and let the chips fall where they may. And when I say positive I don't mean you have to like all our music. It's OK with me if people don't like something we've done, or for that matter anything we've done separately or together. I just want to have a forum where we can talk about it intelligently without slagging one another.
All I really want to do is talk about gear, making music and any cool tracks people are feeling that they can turn the group onto. Anyone who wants to join in can.

And he wasn't even attacking you, lol.
The only "attack" (which isn't even attack, but rather an educated and accurate observation) here is that you blatantly stole the lead from Petter's "Some Polyphony".

I'm really not trying to be argumentative but I honestly hadn't heard the track until today. If the parts are similar it's coincidence. Personally I don't hear it, the progressions are different and not even in the same key. I admit the lead sounds are similar but Deadmau5 has used similar sounds for leads a lot and so have a ton of other artists. It's not an uncommon sound or time signature.

Hey, I was looking at the Roland JX synths just now and was wondering if the editing is all done through the buttons and the menu rather than any knobs or sliders? Is that tedious or do you find it fairly intuitive?
Also, have you used the Juno 106 / 6 / 60 line, and if so were they any good? I found a few of those at reasonable prices on EBay recently.
