Thanks man, I embrace anything that will make me improve.
You might never know what you're doing wrong if people don't criticize your work. It is exactly those sorts of comments on my mixes which have helped me improve so far.

I think that the fact that I'm not playing out is also affecting my tracklists, as I don't get the chance to play all my favorite tracks all the time and end up cramming them all in the same set. ![]() A situation that I'm planning to take care of soon enough. I have the contacts to get me a monthly or weekly slot on a small club, but I've been such a pussy. |
your live ta set was pretty ace,
you better listen to mine just because i did something unexpected with the san proper perlon release and some nu jazz
I'm also buying copious amounts of ganja music at the time, and don't have enough time to really listen to everything that I buy fast enough. More often than not, I listen to a track a few days after putting out a mix and think "damn, I should have used this one".
Thanks for the advice, that's something that I try to do. I have different playlists in iTunes labeled "Early Afternoon", "Afterhours", "Filler", "Peak Time", "Outdoorsy", etc. But I really need to invest more time in it, in order to get all my music sorted that way.
Don't we all....
Getting my music sorted/organized is probably my biggest problem right now.
Just too much good stuff coming out. I mean it's true what they say...there is a lot of sheer crap released these days...but there's also a lot of really good stuff coming out too!!
Don't know how the hell I'm going to make more time. Between work and my girlfriend I'm pretty much full, lol.

Holy shit!
When did they add playlist folders?
My biggest problem, myself, is spending too much money and over budgeting myself like a mother****** =p My AmEx does have a limit on it eventually =/
Thanks, will definitely try it. I really like your sets, so it definitely means you're doing something right while selecting your tracks.
Wow I never noticed playlist folders either. Thanks Bas.
I dunno, haven't they always had those folders? I remember seeing them but had no idea what they were/how to use them. Just gave it a shot heh. It's pretty handy, Traktor will sync with your iTunes and read all your playlists and playlist folders. You can even assign hotkeys to specific playlists or folders. I love you Traktor
Lmao. I don't think any of us knew what the hell they were before this.
Time to eat some tofu [
] and get some good organizing down!
Windows folders ftw!

I think they added those folders since version 7 but I never really found a use for them either.
Yeah, I guess I never had any real use for them until I got Traktor a couple months ago.

Thanks for ignoring my "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" reference btw
I saw that movie once. I think I was high, I don't remember it too well. I think it was good, though. Right? =/

I'll take a listen.Try this: In iTunes create a playlist folder for the month (September 09, October 09 etc), then within those folders create playlists for different moods (late, early, filler etc) and even your top 10 for the month. Helps A LOT...the only problem is you might end up sticking to the newest month every gig/set, hard to get out of that style but I think it works |
also bas sold me on the itunes thing after i saw desyn do it about 2 years ago.
apple = overrated
but coding your cd book and maxi with numbers and searching in itunes to find them > digging.
serato though > traktor

yeah.
i just like it more.(serato)
the response/latency with the control vinyls just feels better, and traktor crapped out a few times when i used it, and serato has been as steady as michael jacksons penis at cub scout camp.
