| Originally posted by Lira I think it's just like poetry in a language you don't speak: unless you "get it", it's hard to see its worth. I don't claim to understand noise in any way, but I can kind of tell a good track from a bad one. One is egregious, and the other is just downright intolerable |

| 'The above is precisely the kind of worthless arse-dribble I am forced to read whenever I agree to judge a poetry competition. It took me under a minute and a half to write, and while I dare say you can see what utter wank it is, there are many who would accept it as poetry ... 'Like so much of what passes for poetry today it is also listless, utterly drained of energy and drive - a common problem with much contemporary art, but an especial problem with poetry that chooses to close itself off from all metrical pattern and form. It is like music without beat or shape or harmony: not music at all, in fact.' '...It is as if we have all been encouraged to believe that form is a kind of fascism, and that to acquire knowledge is to drive a jackboot into the face of those poor souls who are too incurious, dull-witted or idle to find out what poetry can be.' |
..."arse-dribble"
I like how T.I. sounds in Timbaland's and Timberlake's - My Love, the song is kinda trancey imho.
KrisG had a great track in Production one time that blended rap with EDM.

If you mix today's cheesy pop Trance with rap what you get is... Eurodance!
As crazy as it sounds, Armin working with Soulja Boy might actually produce the most awesome track of the decade.

As much as I like female vocals- I wouldn't mind if a good MC would spit to a tough Trance tune.
Potential Producers to mix with Rap:
Mat Zo- Tech-Breakdowns and awesome synths that would highlight the significance of a rap song (I guess)
Myon and Shane 54- Deep, melodic and yet simple...Perfect combo for spittin.
A&B- Perhaps for softer levels of Rap.
Shit sounds restarted, oh well...I wanna see if it works.
This is how you do Hip-Hop and EDM:
Hip-Hop + Trance = nuts 'n gum

Isn't typical trance BPM like double typical hip hop BPM anyway? It would sound ridiculous.

Typical rap is in the 80 to 100BPM range, trance is an odd increment further up the tempo level, where as DnB is usually double raps tempo. DnB seems to work well for people spitting on top of, cause its essentially the same rhythm. Also rap and DnB are both break beats most of the times, it gives more syncopation to the beat and is easier to play off of. A straight four to the floor is going to be really awkward to rap over.
Either way, OP is retarded.
The only type of stuff that I have heard that could be considered "rap" in the slightest is whats his name from Faithless, but thats just different altogether.
