I still fail to see how it is tacky. A glorified photo frame we call T.V.'s aren't tacky, but this is?

Just my opinion

Which is cool, but that still doesn't explain how it is tacky, yet a T.V. is not. Which is pretty much the same, but on a larger scale.

You don't leave your TV on when guests come over, do you? Of course not, it would be weird and distracting. That's how I feel about digital photo frames. If I went to someone's place and saw one, I'd be thinking to myself "Oh, are they trying to show off their photos or something?"

It's just weird and tacky

But people bust out their photo albums and go through them. What is the difference? Different medium, yes, but still same concept.

Not quite. Going through a photo album with someone is a bit different to having your pics displaying all the time to anyone that comes in. The equivalent would be to show your photo album to every single person that comes into your house. And that's weird and tacky

I guess we will differ in this aspect. I don't really put anything picture wise on display of mine, since I don't like the attention put on it, but others have tons of pictures of their family hung around the house/office/etc. Same shit different medium.

i always hated that about family gatherings. i wanna watch tv goddammit.

and tbh i don't think they're that tacky either, if i had the money i would probably have quite a few big-ass digital frames in my ultra-modern techno-house. the bathrooms would also have the 3 seashells, n shit.

3 sea shells? wtf is that for? lol

That is the entire point of digital photo frames.

well the same can be said for having regular printed pictures out in frames all over the house right? i mean i hope you're not arguing against that. anyway the way i see it, it's like getting more for your money. instead of having to buy all these pictures and pick the ones you want in frames, you just get one frame for ALL of them. sounds like a deal to me.

Regular pics are kind of different. They don't glow, or flash, or constantly change, and therefore don't draw constant attention to themselves. Aesthetically, I just find the digital frames to be tacky like that.

Nobody understandssssss meeeeeeee

I think it just more so comes down to the fact that some things are hard to accept as basically the same but a different medium as we get older. I find myself doing it.

You callin' me old, bitch?

Wait... nvm

I dunno, maybe that's it. I just don't like glowing/flashing shit as decorations in my house. It's not pleasing to the eye. Or my eye, anyway.
