Love is in the air

awesome awesome awesome show. worth every penny i paid. great tracks.

my girl and i got kicked out of the open bar area for not having bracelets and while running from the staff we somehow got back stage and posted up in this like music equipment cart and made sweet love for a while until someone scoped us and politely told us we were in a restricted area.

anyone know of any trackers so i can download the set?

haha shit all i want to do i go back to those early morning hours of january 1st!

I believe the track is corsten's out of the blue (new remix). Nice to see PVD dropping some classic trance

Posted by Burak14 on Jan-04-2010 07:57:

what was his 2nd encore? i was walking out as he started playing it.

Posted by KTyas on Jan-04-2010 09:18:

PVD - Crush was the second encore

Ok peeps. Been A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I actually posted a review of an event. But there was no way I could not after this night. PVD's Set was quite possibly the best set since Roxy 2005 when he was voted #1 DJ. Seriously. You all know the dj I follow the most is PVD and have been to just about every show since 2002. Seriously Paul banged the shit out of this set. Other than the countdown, which while "weak" was extremely classy & ballsy, and the fact it ended at 4am(understandable cause he had to be in Canada in a few hours) there was nothing at all bad about the night. He was on point, mixing was crisp(which obviously ableton was involved) but still, he's been using ableton for a while and NYE just stood out mixing wise. The flow of the set was astonishing. He was RELENTLESS!!!! And all the classics, WoW!!!! I had a great time listening to my favorite DJ of all time and bringing in the New Year with some of my closest friends! I'm not gonna get into shouting out all the names! You know who you are and you know that I luv ya!
I will shout out Burak! Great meeting you bro! Rocked it out proper man!!! And get over PVD playing a Tiesto Track! Paul used to drop Traffic all the time!!!!!!

And PSS For the first time, I did not HATE hearing Time of Our Lives. It kind of felt right.

Many props to Jason Jollins for playing a killer opening set. Jason, you totally set the tone & mood the right way. Amazing job my man. Keep up the great work!!! You deserve the best!

Posted by BitchBoyNYC on Jan-04-2010 14:08:

Hey any idea if the set was recorded? Or at least part of the set?

Posted by DJslantzz on Jan-04-2010 14:33:

Haven't posted a review yet...but I am in agreement with Bitchboy (Joey) about the set. I had such a good time with everyone, and was great to meet some new TA's I have never met

Now time for a 2-3 month hibernation since it's my busy season for accounting

I hear ya. I think my next big event is going to be Trance Energy. I already secured the days off at work today! So I'm ok with getting the time off. If i do manage to make TE work out, it will be my official retirement party, with the exceptions being when Sean & Simon, and Pvd of course come to town.

edit*** Maybe Electric Zoo also.
Ok so not sounding like a FULL RETIREMENT party. LOL

I wish we could have met up!!! I went down to the front a few times and tried to look for you. I probably walked past you a few times! Damn! But was it not a rediculous party!!!!! OMG so much fun!!!

Well here's my review and my thoughts,

the music overall was good, i was pleased with everything except the countdown. it was fun but it definitely snuck up on me maybe cuz i was so bombed at that point.

the venue and crowd was awesome, i was thoroughly happy with the fact that it wasn't jammed crowded. I manage to get to the bar many times without a problem. my particular bartender of choice was the old man in the back facing the stage. i love oldman drinks, but have to say he put me out earlier then I wanted to be. All is good though.

the crowd was great, a nice mix of young eye candy walking around. the security didn't care much for anything that went down on the dancefloor. I met some chick from Arizona, I was so bombed I don't remember her name, didn't get her number, just remember she was from AZ. I brought in 6 blunts, I smoked 4 of them inside. I was a bit shocked to see the party start clearing out at 4ish, I was contemplated going to sulli after but had to attend to some things back at home.

Overall, it was a great night, it wasn't overly packed, music was good, visuals were perfect although could have used some lazers.

I think the only ones who spotted me was Ryan, Jen, and Lee. Not exactly sure if I met others, I think Rory was his name? Either way, good times all around.

damn. track list looks awesome and holy crap at some of the ID's... it looked like pvd was having an awesome time himself, which was something that was missing when i saw him at pier 54.

30. Adam Foley - For The Record

Posted by Uncle ED on Jan-04-2010 20:20:

I was mangled, I walked to Penn Station after PVD and cant even remember that. I can drink with the best, but jesus, maybe someone put something in my drink...So if you talked to me, and I made no sense at all, that is why...lol.

oh shut it, seeing you out doesn't count cuz i always somehow see you somewhere...don't lie you know it's true

Posted by hitokiri on Jan-04-2010 21:45:

you do have a point either way I'll just reiterate what everyone more or less said, music good countdown lame a bit rushed and the songs he chose im not surprised but are lame imo but that's just me i can't stand either song the vibe was pretty good, ppl were def friendly that night plus side was that it wasn't crowded and ppl had room to breath. overall a good experience for nye much better than the one in 2005 which I know some of you can agree on. looking forward to next nye till then happy new year

Posted by diesel_tron3000 on Jan-05-2010 00:40:

the vibe was supremely stellar. i think that's why so many people are like "sheeeeit HOW did i get home?!" personally i got like 75% blacked out, like i don't remember leaving or getting my coat but i remember eating pizza at the sabarro after and being surprised at the amount of drunk people stumbling around the city, myself included

i can see how the set list might not impress some folks but it was definitely fucking amazing inside

I join that club, Im lucky I got my coat (dont remember), did not lose my wallet, however, I have no idea how I did VIP (Free Drinks) had $150 with me, and as I order food from a street vendor, I realize I have $-0- in my wallet?..WTF? Vibe was stellar indeed

Posted by tedbarresi01 on Jan-05-2010 06:41:

paul was relentless on NYE, it was like nothing ive ever heard before.from the first drop to the end of the show he did not stop. I hope this set gets on alldj or something i needa hear it again
