I'm merely pointing out that this is bullshit.

You're merely pointing out that you seem to have had a conversation with yourself, then got mad at me over it. I had stated that I had tried raising and lowering the gain of the kick, and still couldn't get it to translate well. My frustration was based on my efforts more then my monitors. You seem to have selective hearing.

Also, you might have avoided coming across as so utterly dumb if you phrased your questions more like "How do you make a good kick?" and then left it a more open ended question rather than saying "Why is THIS kick from my friend so good when mine are so shoddy Waaaaaaa!". That way, others might have gotten something out of the thread, rather than it all just being about robby and his production issues.

Oh my effn god no you did not just actually say that.
Ok, so rather then be specific, and submit and actual EXAMPLE of the sound I WANT TO ACHIEVE, it would be better to just randomly have said "how do I make a good kick", possibly one of the vaguest questions I could have asked. When realistically tou know and I know if I DID say that 20 people would have came in saying "if you posted a sample of what sound you're after we could help you better". You might have avoided coming across so "utterly dumb" if you weren't so preoccupied with making ME look dumb.

In regards to your last post; most people come here to learn things they don't already know. Most of the questions you ask can't be answered online, they require pure practice. There is no secret knowledge, just experience.

Anyway, I've sunk enough time into telling how not to be a dickhead, unsubscribing.

You are right I agree, still doesn't mean people can't try.

.....but it was far more difficult, relied on tons of expensive outboard and a shitload of time as well as expertise, and even then there were a ton of problems.

You're either being a purist for the sake of it or simply stupid if you really try to make electronic music without a computer, when so much technology has gone in to amking them perform that so well. I'm not saying it can't be done by any means, just that for our purposes, it's the most sensible choice.

Robbie should watch these two videos.

http://www.realtraps.com/video_hearing.htm

http://www.realtraps.com/video_demo.htm

The first one is an example of treatment vs no treatment. The second one is correcting bass frequencies with just bass traps.

i was starting to question if this robby thread was gonna make at least 10 pages

now i think its gonna make it

Very interesting Videos. I could not imagine it made that much difference only with basstraps.

About the whole Robby thing I can't really see the problem with a question like this. I mean its a forum and I think its nice to have something to read. There are many people on different kind of levels hanging here, and I understand if some of the newb questions sounds dumb to the more experienced people. But lets not forget that everyone have to start somewhere.

From this thread I have learned that treatment are far more important than I thought before. And from many other threads that even I think is newbish I often learn something new at the end.

If Robbys questions annoys you, don't read his threads. If his post entertain you in some whay at all, wich seems to be the case in this thread, then keep on reading.

I think Robby will contribute a whole lot to this forum when he gets good enough to answer other peoples questions. Thats how it works.
