Maybe you're just like ezekiel

Why do we scream at each other
This is what it sounds like
When the buggy's drive

Great timing, good mass appeal, done for a good reason, but ethics tell us we can contribute without gain thus the reason why we didn't include any designs in the spring line.

There are still charities dedicated to the those who lost their lives. i wasnt even looking at it like that. its just part of our nyc culture and history. My grandfather was in the sheet metal union and was on a crew who built the north tower. I also lost 3 friends (FDNY) and my uncle that day. So in no way shape or form was that idea even crossing my mind, the WTC was and always will be one of the major symbols of this great city. the ny-haiti shirt is a great idea with this being the biggest melting pot on the planet.

i respect what you guys are trying to do and all, i just think that the large gash branding is doing the same as a million others are. Do you want to get lost in the current or go against it? You see stuff like this in almost every tourist shop in NYC. I've been many times, i'm not blind.

I'm just throwing in an opinion, it is by no means the end all to anything. Put your work out to be seen, and people will comment on it.

Branding is not that difficult to accomplish...get one famous or even semi famous person to be seen in a picture wearing one of your prints and over night your sales increase exponentially. Finding a face for a brand has always been more important than the actual brand itself. You can see this with many companies that were smaller and blew up because of who wore it.

Again, previously mentioned I appreciate all the love, even from the haters lol. I can take the constructive criticism only because I'm not part of the creative briefs and brainstorms. My opinion is not weighed in on design but rather markets (womens line, accessories, etc) The stuff I need them to make in order to sell.

Although it's good to know that 'tourist' think they see these designs in 'tourist' shops, but we know you won't find it there. Design wise may be similar, but I'm most certainly positive the originality in designs will be unparalleled. It's common and understood across the company. Just as long as we aren't printing pictures of kate moss or kim kardashian on our shirts.

It will have to be unique and accepted into the branding for mainstays like this to work. Only for the fact that memorial items and tributes have gone ape shit on the WTC tragedy so to distinguish us from them in this sense would be more difficult to come up with an original concept.

I do however really appreciate this feedback and discussion. Funny enough that I'm getting more here then from the other sneaker and clothing forums that I frequent.

Go figure!

BTW - I "believe" we are getting a promo from a DJ playing at ASOT 450 NYC!

i see your point, not everyone will look at it the same way hence you need to keep peoples emotions at bay. Deff dig the bombin aspect that to me is true nyc history since i was apart of it when i was younger, it brings back some old feelings. I like the clothes but as you said its hard to diferentiate yourself from the mass lines out there. i find these clothes and "the story" "nyc history / style" vibe to be a bit close to LRG, TRIPPLE 5 SOUL, and ZOO YORK styles but thats a good thing bc i like that style and many other native ny'ers like it too.

on a side note, you're probably getting more traffic and demographic data on a site like this bc music and fashion go somewhat hand in hand.

however none the less, i do like the apparel and i respect small business' in and around the NYC area, jay z put it best when he said "city is a pitty half of yall wont make it" its true my ninja if you can make it here you can make it anywhere. good luck with everything.

appreciate the words bro, don't you worry I'm sure you'll all be hearing more about us soon.

We don't want to be a big player like T5S, LRG or even enough capital to have our own store. We're looking for the happy medium where margins are large enough to increase production yet still remain limited and boutique.

I believe we plan on being at Magic and Agenda trade shows. I also chuckle at some of the turn downs we've recently received for editorial press in magazines, only because I know the coming efforts are going to push the visibility to the next level. I guess that'll put us in the position to deny editorial offers.

Bas I am sorry but if my memory serves me correct, you came to NY when I was leaving. So in this instance you are to blame for not looking at my outlook calendar and coordinating with my schedule, I am truly sorry.

Tigo had no issues meeting up with me, I even drove his ass to Coney Island to get some hotdogs @ 11pm. Ask him

Ya we've heard that before and definitely have our summer and fall lines that align with those suggestions. I must say though, there has been a world wide appeal for NY branded apparel, about 60% of our sales is world wide. The regions that purchase often include - Australia, Japan, Moscow, and the UK.

Go figure!

Japan and Russia make sense, they love english words, they don't even care if they make sense.
