Dedicated edm fans that made Cosmic Gate what they are today are in the minority, though. And money does go a long way in deciding what they play. Money represents popularity, and their popularity nowadays is predicated on playing to a different demographic than the fans of years and years ago. Today, the majority of people at a show would be upset if they didn't hear the newest "commercial" tracks that they were expecting from Cosmic Gate. We get a skewed view of things because we are on these message boards talking to like-minded people about what tracks are preferred. While some of us feel that sets from artists like Cosmic Gate are not nearly as good as they once were, there are many more (usually younger) people out there who love what they currently play, and support them for it. The music is always going to change, and people are always going to get older.
Sidenote: I do feel like WMC sets should be a little different because, for the most part, the crowd is a little different than your average show elsewhere. But, whatever...........

So... buddha gardens as soon as CG hits the decks????

Well they will be doing a classic live set tour soon so i will be seeing them there for sure, but besides that, i am sick of the many classic djs who go progressive or tech or whatever the new trend in popularity is. Was hard trance, then proggy, and now everyone is going for deadmau5 stuff lol.

But anyways, you said it. WMC gets edm fans who come for a purpose. Dont cater to the florida ravers/clubbers, cater to the expectations of truly hardcore fans. WMC is a trip for many of us because we hope the set will be more true to the artist, as opposed to a normal dj set tour. That is why many sets during WMC are legendary. They cater towards the crowd specifically. However, this trend has slowed down big time, as it just seems like your average set nowadays by many. Hopefully, our expectations are met again this year and we can add more to the epic sets/memories rather than keep mentioned other years.

Oakenfold tickets should be cheaper. $10 extra for the combo and it would be a no brainer.

Infected so far are not booked for this event. They only have a 45 minute set confirmed for Ultra and said they will be there only one day (as it looks like right now).

Would have been an amazing event if Infected were there as well - wide range of music with the two sections. Still going to be a solid event though.

UPDATE: Not sure if Oakenfold is going to miss his own label's party haha. They have now posted the "line-up" being Hernan Cattaneo & Kenneth Thomas & "Special Guest" *might that be Oakenfold??*

Yea this event is going on in the terrace from 10-2. Dont really think ill bother with it since we'll be at Ultra and probably won't get there until 1230-1... and straight to Ferry & friends

With the ticket prices remaining the same, I am assuming that previous tickets will be honored, i.e. - combo passes will allow access all night. I have sent an email to wantickets to confirm this assumption.

On a sidenote: How lame is a 4 hour party? Seriously. I mean, actually, it's one big party in the gardens, but the way it's seperated into 4 hour segments is stupid. I'm sure anybody who was on the fence about Perfecto as a destination by itself that night, is going to look elsewhere.

Yea, I can't imagine people wanting to pay $30 for a 4 hour party. So the combo is definitely worth it now! You would pay $60 for the two "outdoor" parties rather than $50 for all 3... doesn't make any sense.

In past years Karu has pulled a permit to allow them to stay open later during WMC. I would expect them to try & do so again this year or that perfecto party would be a joke. Maybe someone @ Made can shed some light on whether that's in the works???

ok so def going to hit up this party.

going to be at Ultra till 12a. then head off to this party.

I am getting so hyped it off the charts.
