Its one of those combos you either love or hate.....have you ever tried it?

Now I want some beer. Now I want some delicious beer really bad. Right now. Do you see what you have done, Stuart? I hope you're happy.

Admittedly, no, I've never tried it. I don't think we even get clamato juice over here. If we do, I've never seen it at any of the supermarkets I've been to.

Its another one of those strange Canadian things that has made its way into the states. If you ever see any clamato juice you gotta try it. I find the best mix is three parts beer and one part clamato juice.

Not making any promises

I've yet to try Delirium Tremens. I keep forgetting. Meh.

I've been on the Magic Hat #9 tip lately.

Posted by Sushipunk on Feb-04-2010 03:48:

Delerium Tremens is damn good man, you should definitely get some ASAP.

I once bought magic hat number 9 (accidentally bought the cat one thinking it was #9)

I drank 1, threw out the rest of the six pack.

Magic Hat is such a hit or miss brewery, I think. But they make a lot of great stuff. The #9 is probably the beer most responsible for getting me into craft beer...aside from sierra nevada i suppose. I guess the whole 'apricot-infused not quite pale ale' doesn't do it for everyone. Oh well

shitty shitty pic i took with my webcam. i've got a growing beer cellar in the works. and by that i mean i have about 30 beers that i've been holding on to. I guess you might consider these a handful of my favorite / most prized. Not much but it's a start.

From left to right - Port Brewing Older Viscosity, Deschutes Mirror Mirror, Russian River Consecration, Trappistes Westvleteren 12 (yeah, it's empty...can you blame me? i'll get my hands on another soon enough), Russian River Temptation (this beer is pure wow), Deschutes Black Butte XXI, De Dolle Brouwers Stille Nacht. Peeking out behind the Westy is Stone's 09 Vertical Epic. I had a Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout but drank it the other day. What a beer.

GENTLEMEN

One of my recent faves. I'm also really liking Duvel Green and Lost Abbey 10 Commandments.

Ale brewed with cherry juice? Now that sounds pretty interesting. Is it heaps sweet in flavour though?

Nope! The hoppiness of the beer cuts the sweetness of the cherry pretty well. It's REALLY good.

Man, one day we're going to have to get an international beer exchange thing going on. That would suck for US people though, I guess, as alcohol can't be mailed to the US :/

I wonder if it can be mailed from the US though? I'd love to try stuff like that.

That's so weird. There has to be a way to get these delicious beers to you

Yeah, I'm not sure if beer/alcohol can be sent FROM the US, but it definitely can't be sent TO the US. I checked ages ago. I was going to swap Mario some US beer for some Oz wine

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Feb-04-2010 06:38:

i've traded beers previously. you just need to be discreet about it.

Anyway, another beer I recently tried was this one:

It's a super-strong lager (I believe) at 14% abv. It was once listed in the Guiness book of world records as the world's strongest beers. It is very highly rated. It is brewed once a year on the 6th of December and then matured for 12 months, before being sold. I personally hated it but that's just me.

Yea, that's a very strong beer. Super Malty. It definitely had a unique taste, but I wouldn't try it again.

Yeah, and if customs confiscates it? Lying about what you send through the mail is a federal offence here, and probably is in the US too, so no thanks

It's funny.. I've tried basically all of those and with the temptation and older viz especially...i kept buying them saying "this one is to hold on to for a year or two" and then i'd drink it within a week and go back for another to "hold on to"

when it comes to beer through mail - it's certainly illegal here too. i know people have traded beer with foreigners but it's mostly belgium or germany to and from the US i'm not sure if australia would be that much more strict. people i know have been 'found out' so to speak here in the states but that normally just means you get a letter/email from fedex/ups saying there were problems with your shipment and it won't be arriving.
