Poli-sci and history kind of go hand-in-hand. I usually refer to it as a major in bullshit and minor in backin' it up.

Apparently it's possible to have a degree in about 15 fields in America.

I'm a certified EMT also however never have time to work for the FD anymore. The medical field is a great field everyone needs healthcare.

Met a lot of girls doing EMT work on accident scenes "hey saved your life, you owe me a dinner date "

You can do as many as you want. IMO the more you do and the higher you go in your field relative to education will bring in the money. duh.

Considering a lot of people with PhD are having trouble finding jobs, its probably better to cover multiple fields so you have a better chance at landing a job.

Medicine is fun, if you're willing to sacrifice all day studying. (8 am - 20 PM class then study further till 02 am, in my case anyway)

My Housemate is studying Human Geography, he only has lectures 6 hours a week (half of which he bunks off from) and the rest of the time he is on the Xbox...Frustrating for those of us that have a lot of external reading to do around the subjects.

B.A. in General Studies
Emphasis in Geographical Sciences

Not exactly what I planned out...went to 3 different colleges and switched majors 4 times. Went from a performing arts school studying film, to a community college, to a full-out state university starting out in Journalism...switched to English...then Communications...then attempted Geography, but was told I would not graduate on my current plan due to lack of credits within the Geography college...so I went the Liberal Arts route and merely concentrated on the major I would have chosen.

I may go back and finish up via a post-baccalaureate program to possibly pursue Geographic Information Systems (get involved with city planning/cartography, etc.), but I found a good job through Chase bank in the finance world....talk about being everywhere at once.

But I've learned a lot and I've enjoyed the journey.

Not great, to be honest. I'm slacking off big time. Don't really feel like learning the software they are teaching, like Csound and Max. I'm quite happy with my Ableton Live, thank you very much. It's a pretty good program overall though.

Not anymore, graduated just last May, but thanks for asking. I loved my time there...made a ton of great friends, enjoyed a campus of parties, and am glad to say that I still go back on weekends (I live in Naperville so I'm only a half hour away). I forgot you went there...weren't you doing grad studies at U of I or am I mistaken?
