Just go someplace a lot... or check in a lot, then you're the mayor.

What is "The Mayor" all about?
If you've been to a place more than anyone else we'll crown you the "The Mayor" of that place. We see lots of bars and cafes now offering "Mayor Specials" - a free coffee or appetizer or maybe a special discount to the mayors of their venues. Watch out though - once someone else comes along who has checked-in more times that you, they can steal the "Mayor" title back from you."

btw: Jeff's a friggin travellin' champ. At one point today he was top 25 in all of Toronto.

Same. iPhone's have the option of being 'on the grid' or 'off the grid', so we can update silently and accumulate points etc. without advertising it. Only once in a while I'll let Twitter update, but never FB
