This was my 8th WMC. I had the best time of my life this year. I stayed right in SOBE..which I usually dont do.

Ultra day 1 and 2 ....freaking amazing.........

Tiesto was of course my fav ..of course. hit up the Biscane stage.. that was incredible too.

Day 2 was Freaking SICK. I did not stop dancing once. and I even found my niece there. amazing. My fav was the UMF Brasil tent. without a doubt. Oakenfold, ATB, Above and Beyond, Kleinenberg, Markus, and Gareth Emery

after I drove back to the hotel I ran to get dressed and hit up Karu and Y for Ferry Corsten and Oakenfold. Ferry was playing so hard!!!! I kept on screaming, "is this Ferry?" omg he blew the roof it was so ridiculous. It was so chill outside too.

stayed till 6am when they closed Sied van Reihl was crazy too. We were dancing in circle. So old school. I loved it. I threw myself in a circle and started dancing. We were clapping, dancing, screaming. So circa 2000. I missed those days so much and I got a piece of that again.

Sunday ...Recovery . Clevelander for the Nervous pool party, then Armani Exchange..got to meet Gareth Emery . he is incredible. Then back to the Clevelander till 4 am ... It was good times... no doubt about that . although most of my trance people left.

left Tuesday night. Mood had chanced since WMC. I can not wait till next year ..already. COUNTDOWN!!!!!

Long time lurker in this forum guys, just wanted to add my .02!

Thursday:
Arrived at Condo at about 11am, feeling excited and already getting tons of calls by friends already in Miami. After getting settled we made our way to the Shelborne to pick up tickets/try and get tickets for Cadenza V Desolat. Decided against paying the $70 at the door charge, and just grabbed drinks at Wet Willies. Picked up groceries at Publix, made dinner, and got ready. Headed to D25:25 years of Detroit Techno at the Shoreclub, this was a really nice club, with 3 stages set up, and a great mellow vibe, arrived to Theo Parish playing a by the book, groovy techno set, followed by Moody Man. Then inside for a local hero Chuck Flask, showing everyone what was up. Then Kevin Saunderson took over!!!! Holy shit I haven't seen energy like that from him in a while, I was going crazy. Josh Wink stopped by and I got to chat with him for a bit, great guy, really down to earth. Stumbled back to the condo at about 5:30am, decided to walk, got to see the chaos that is south beach. LMAO!!

Friday:
Rested, made breakfast, and then off to Circo Loco. Again really impressed with the layout of the hotel. Caught the tail end of Jamie Jones, man was this guy busy like all week, I wonder if he slept at all. Met some cool people, tore up my feet dancing in flip flops(I was the guy in the puma track jacket dancing by the pool,LOL). Headed back to the condo.
In the evening I was supposed to go to space but had a misunderstanding with the bouncers, and refused to pay them off, so I just sold my ticket and headed back to South Beach to rest.

Saturday:
Met up with DPetey and grabbed ultra ticket as a spur of the moment decision(thanks again by the way man, if you head to Detroit for DEMF this year first round is on me!)Then over to Ultra, I have to say though, aside from the people watching, ultra is not my thing. I ended up leaving after catching Boyz Noize to beat the crowd. Napped, then off to Sunday school for degenerates to catch the man of the week, ADAM FUCKING BEYER! Good lord this man melted my face not once, but twice during the party.

Sunday:
Left Sunday school for Victor Calderone, napped, then went back, this has to be my favorite party of the weekend. The vibe was unbeatable, and I didnt see one person playing with glowsticks, which is definitely a plus! Soul Clap are definitely blowing up this year, set of the evening, hands down, goes to Paco Osuna, who was ripping the back room a new one, I would literally move from outside to in, and have to step back to make sure my face was not melted off.

Monday:
Early flight home, tired, ears ringing, and sad.

Thanks to everyone who provided invaluable information on this board, until next year guys!

Well, the week is over, and what a week it was. It may have been the quickest week I've ever had in my life.

I arrived on Wednesday groggy and anxious due to having a 6am flight. That feeling was knocked away in a hurry when the cab drove into South Beach, and the warm weather and sun seeped into my skin, and I took in the colours, the sights and sounds of South Beach.

We arrived at the condo, put our bags down and got down to business right away. We spent all of Wednesday eating, drinking, and shopping around South Beach. I really must say that South Beach is quite a nice place, and the location of our condo helped us enjoy it to the fullest. Lots of beautiful patios to sit at while watching group after group of gorgeous bikini clad women walk by.

On Wednesday night, we went to Ovum at Shine which was a great time. I don't have much a review of the music because I didn't end up staying there too long, but I did like what I heard.

Thursday:

I woke up Thursday with a raging hangover unlike I've had in quite a long time. We decided to go to the Cadenza vs. Desolat pool party at the Shelborne as a last minute decision which was one of the best decisions we made all week.

The Shelborne pool is just incredible. When the party was finally in full swing, I remember standing on one side of the pool just taking a look around me with my jaw on the ground. Everyone along the perimeter of the pool was dancing, the crowd was going wild, the music was pumping, and it felt like everyone was simultaneously coming to the realization that their long-awaited vacation had finally begun.

Reboot really floored me that day. I had seen him once before and he didn't impress me that much at all, but he definitely played one of the best sets of the whole week and was much better than Loco Dice and Luciano in my opinion. There was one moment during his set where he played a latin sounding track that he let build forever, when the sun was at it's strongest, and everyone had their hands in their air with big smiles on their faces. Truly one of the best moments of the week, and one of the best party moments ever for me.

(this video doesn't even do that moment an ounce of justice)

I had a lot of fun at the Cadenza/Desolat pool party, and was exactly what I expected an epic WMC pool party to be. Great music, hot sun, drinks flowing, moments of magic and beautiful girls dancing in bikinis everywhere.

I made an attempt to go to Space Terrace on Thursday night to see Lawler & co. but my friend couldn't get in and my hangover still had a bit of a grip on me so I decided to rest up for the rest of the week.

Friday:

To say that everyone we were staying with were highly anticipating the Circo Loco pool party was an understatement. So when we all woke up on Friday morning to what sounded like a torrential downpour, we were quite disappointed. We finally pulled our hurting bodies out of bed and made it to Circo Loco at around 3:30pm. When we got there, there weren't that many people there yet, and we were afraid that the party had gone bust because everyone was afraid of the rain.

The party did fill up quite nicely, but I still wasn't that impressed. There was only 1 stage instead of 3, half of the DJs got cancelled, and the crowd/experience really wasn't what I was expecting. It was a fun party and the music was good, but I think Circo Loco has failed to export their product to Miami in a meaningful way. Although it was a fun party, it was not 10% of what the real Circo Loco in Ibiza was. After the fiasco last year at Nocturnal Terrace (which thankfully I wasn't present for), and after what happened this year, if I come back to WMC, Circo Loco will not be one of my priorities.

That being said, Matthias Tanzmann vs. Davide Squillace was one of the best sets of the whole week, and Sneak and Francois K played some great music as well. Also, this party was in a very nice, big venue with a MASSIVE amount of people. Hopefully these guys can get their act together next year if Circo Loco fans haven't given up already, because this party had a lot of pootential.

After Circo Loco we went to Lee Burridge vs. Danny Howells at Aero Bar where they both played a very good set, but we left after only 2 hours because we wanted to be rested for Get Lost.

Saturday:

I don't even really know where to begin with Get Lost on Saturday...

When this party got announced in the weeks leading up to WMC, it was the show-stopping announcement I had been looking for, and the first party I bought my ticket for without any hesitation. I was looking forward to this party more than any other, and had high expectations (which are usually very hard to meet). This party was more than I ever expected and hoped for, and I am still trying to come to terms with just how good Get Lost was on Saturday.

When the set times got announced, I was disappointed to see that all the DJs I wanted to see were playing the very early slots since my plan was to sleep the night before, and get there at around 10am. I decided to bite the bullet and get there for opening or as close to it as possible.

We arrived at around 5:30am, and the place filled up very quickly. The day started off with a groovy, disco/funk-infused, mind-warping set by Lee Foss. Lee Foss was the DJ I was looking forward to seeing the most the whole week, and he did not disappoint. Next I saw Art Department (Toronto locals Kenny Glasgow and Johnny White) throw down a very groovy set with vocals done by Kenny G. Upstairs was absolutely rammed and going off during their set, which was awesome to see from what I consider to be some of Toronto's finest. For the first couple of hours of the morning, it was so packed and hot that I had to enjoy the party sitting down.

After Art Department's set, I was on my way outside to the terrace where I was stopped dead in my tracks by Matt Tolfrey. Wooooooooooooooow. This guy absolutely killed it. He was in the top 3 best sets of the conference for me. Even though there were very few people down stairs, and the music was very pitched down and quite housey, I stood right front and center, barely spoke a word and rocked the fuck out for the entire duration of his set. He was SO good. From a guy that was completely off my radar, I can't believe how floored I was by him. I'm happy that Shaun Reeves showed up late, because Tolfrey played an extra long set.

After Tolfrey was finished, I went upstairs to catch the end of Damian Lazerus' set, and was surprised to see Tania Vulcano make a surprise appearance. Considering her set got cut short at Circo Loco, I was happy to hear her play there.

Then came the techno and tech-house beat downs by Konrad Black and Mr. C respectively. Mr. C and Konrad Black, with their no-nonsense, drugged-the-fuck-out techno and tech house sets changed Get Lost from a "really good" afterhours party, to a full-throttle, world-class, hedonistic free for all. Think DC-10, Panorama Bar: from this point on, this party had it all. I don't know what these two did, but the two of them removed the pin that held together any remnance of order that the party had left.

Mr C. started his set off by playing 4 of the most ridiculous tech house songs I've ever heard in my life. I can't even describe them. All I could do was just yell "what the fuck?!" and "oh my god!" repeatedly during those 4 tracks. Then Konrad Black came on and played techno like it was meant to be played. Banging, and no time for rest, anyone in the crowd will remember the name "Konrad Black" for some time to come. Afterward, Mr. C came back on again and made everyone in the room Get completely Lost. Interestingly, as his set progressed, instead of speeding it up, he slowed it down. By the end he was playing so slow that the crowd was completely hypnotized, brought to a level that I for one never even knew existed.

Once Mr C. was finally done, we came outside for some house grooves from Clive Herny and Dyed Soundorom. After what Mr C. and Konrad Black had done inside, the crowd was in complete shambles. Everyone was rocking out soooo hard, and no one gave a fuck about anything but the there and now. The sun was blaring down on the crowd, people were sweating, pounding drinks, and dancing it like it was the last moment on earth. People were wearing ridiculous costumes, and acting in a way that they would likely never act anywhere else. From 2:30-6:30pm I saw Clive Herny, Jamie Jones, Dyed Soundorom, Seth Troxler, Damian Lazarus and Shaun Reeves play a set and created an atmosphere that I don't think I will have the pleasure of enjoying again for a very long time. They played that new-school housey sound, with fun intstrumentals, vocals and groove. It was impeccable for the atmosphere. And yes, the atmosphere was sketchy, but there is a certain atmosphere and vibe that doesn't happen unless unbridled hedonism is allowed to happen. Think DC-10, think Panorama Bar, all of these parties are what they are because they are some of the few places where people are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want. And when people are allowed to do this, magic happens. Something indescribable takes place when people take it to a level that they will likely only take it a few times in their lives. It was almost as if heaven was shining down on those lucky few that were on the Electric Pickle patio that afternoon.

Get Lost was leaps and bounds better than any party I went to in Miami. Not to say that the other parties weren't good, but Get Lost was truly something special that I will try to make it to once again during my life. The music was 10/10 for the entire day. So much variety, and every DJs were playing their hearts out. Anyone who knows me know I do not give this kind of praise about music very often.

Sunday School for Degenerates:

I had a good time at this party. Kudos to Sunday School for trying to give the line-up more of a variety (re: booking housier DJs outside during the day). I really enjoyed the vibe inside during Beyer vs. Ida, and during Paco. However, I found this party to be a lot more chill than I thought it would be, and the music left a bit to be desired. Then again, I think I was just way too spoiled after Get Lost, and was a bit partied out after the week. I would go to this party again if I came back to Miami, but it is questionable whether it was worth $70 or not.

Noteable sets of the day go to Tom Middleton for playing bumpy house outside during the day, and Agoria for playing acid techno inside. Paco was also really good to close the day out.

In conclusion, WMC and South Beach fucking rock. I was actually quite skeptical about it before I went, but I now see what the hype is about. I don't think I'll be able to make it back next year, but

It is also worth noting that this week wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for the great group of people I was with. Everyone I was with was on the same level, no drama, and one special person put a LOT of effort into making this trip what it was (thanks Shelley).

I couldn't have asked for a better graduation trip. =D

I will definitely try to make it back to WMC again.

After a 2 Year Hiatus from WMC and Parties, and lack of money plus needed savings, I decided to limit myself to very affordable parties and the free ones ( by experience I knew that the cheap ones or affordable ones were the most epic in times past .. )

And so I decided. Well Wednesday night I decided to talk a stroll through SoBe and see what was going on.

Somehow we drove right through the Shelborne hotel and the set played sounded sick, we parked right next to it ( Lucky ME ! ) walked around to find out how much it was, a door opened up in the back and we followed a few peeps into the pool and wallaaa! we are in for free.. I heard the party costed 10 bucks afterwards but looking at the line-up it was one of the finest. We stayed till the end, our goal was to go to the National for the trance party but couldn't find it at first anyways good time for about 2 hours.
My WMC mercury started to rise through my body and I decided to try the same round the next day ( Considering I wasn't doing any night-time parties due to work etc etc .. ).
Luciano was playing and tried doing the same trick and I was in. I found out that my buddies were aquaintences with Luciano and been from Chile myself good times were had and good pictures were taken

Friday we hit up the Hope and Therapy party w/ Nick Warren and Dave Seaman and Jody Wisternoff in the loung. AWESOME party awesome time for quality price .. couldn't go wrong!

By this time I decided to hit Ultra, my buddy found 2 tickets from he's sister for 100 each, we get to the park and it's sold out, I took my girlfriend with me planning on buying at the entrance, so I decided to not leave my girl behind and sold it for good 300 bucks crazy demand!

Later that day we went to SOBe and hit up the Shelborne, Surfcomber and ended our day at the BEach Plaza Hotel with Jody once again playing an awesome set.

Sunday was pretty much whatever we could find, we tried going to the Beatport party but it was packed!

Anyways, I didn't get my trance fix I really wanted to, but considering the lack of planning and the randomness of it all, I give this WMC a 10 for the good times and memories and randomness considering I spend a total of 15 for parties and some money for Redbull.

This WMC It's up there with 2005 I think it was? .. ANyways Loved It! Great Weather, Great Parties, Great people at most of them, except for the Surfcomber with all the steroids and Plastic walking around.

Only TAs ( Formers I think ? ) I saw were ROunder and Mattivi.
Good seen them !

Hope to catch up with you all eventually

I totally agree with this, outside was almost like a fantasy world. Me and my girlfriend were wandering round with animal hats on, giving out suncream to all the whiteys cooking in the sun. I saw people doing coke off the speakers, people in every state of mind, including the DJs. I've tried to explain to people who weren't there what it was really like, but it's pretty difficult to put into words! One of the best parties I have ever been to, up there with Ibiza, and I will defo be going back at some point.

DUDE!!! This track is sick. Digweed dropped it on one of his Transitions sets late last year. Sick then, sick now. Wish i could have been there for it.

Reboot - Caminando
such a tune, that was one of my fave wmc moments!

First time at WMC and had a great time.

Flight from Europe was delayed so I missed first day and got a nice hotelnight in a Best Western hotel a few minutes from JFK airport

on wednesday at about 16.30 I landed in miami, missed Nikki beach and headed to the ticketplace to pickup the rest of the tickets.

then off to Parkwest for Danny Tenaglia. Nice club, had a great time.
left kinda early tho, at 3am or something (beginning to get old)

Thursday, poolparty at Eden Roc with Steve Angello, Christian Smith did a awesome job there, great set.

at night, Nocturnal and some techno madness, also saw some dj arguing
think it was when Italoboys took over from some guy, basicly just cut the tune and started his, the other dj didn't like that, and it was like 5 minutes left of his time

well, italoboys sucked, but Thomas Schumacher rocked.

Friday, UMF, damn what a festival, it was maybe abit too crowded, you couldn't get near the main stage and had to stay close to the Ibiza stage and you got to hear both stages at the same time.

left at 9am to go to Space and PVD.

did anyone else buy 2 tickets for this event? or was I the only one.
according to wanttickets page they sold PVD tickets and the techno loft/terrace ticket. but when I got there, they just took both tickets and let me in.. no control whatsoever upstair, found that wierd. tried contacting wanttickets, but they won't do anything about it.. anyhow, had a great time, PVD sucked tho, Sander Van Doorn did a great job, the Drumcode stage was amazing, spent most time up there

Saturday, another day at Ultra, Sasha and John Digweed did a epic set, they Cox took over with his bad ass techno.
as said earlier, the main stage was kinda hard to listen to, due to sounds from the other stages, found that abit annoying.

only real miss I did was the Sunday School, hence the name I thought this would go on for entire sunday night, but nope, when I got there at 22.00 it was closing

I had a great time, though fuck Air France for screwing up my first day, they are gonna have to pay up some money for that.

Fuck KLM for screwing up my homejourney, had to spend 8 hours in Amsterdam because of 2 hour flight delay

will I go back some time, YEP

Landed on Thursday, went and picked up tickets for the week, walked around, and then went to Oceans ten for some drinks and dinner. Great way to kick off the week ahead chilling with friends getting caught up before the mayhem started. First time while eating dinner I have had to put my earplugs in to hear people talk! Within couple hrs there people in my group already spiking there drinks with white kool aide. New was going to be a good weekend. Thurs night went to Tantra early to see friends, Karbokane, Tara Brooks spin. Lil slower then expected as this is a locals miami hot spot some nights of the week in normal times. Midnight took off to Kary & Y.

Anjuna party and Pure Behrouz
Glad got tics for both parties as even though behrouz party was light with people nice to go outside and chill talk to old friends there. Spent most of the night in the Anjunadeep room. Music was spot on, nicely packed but not overly crowded and lot's of cold air! Really like all the artist played in room that night. Ran into Wisternhoff while he was walking through so had to bug him for a couple of minutes. GF thought I was crazy. Only went to main room for Emery set. Damn it was hot in there. Went crazy when he closed with more then anything stoneface and terminal remix. Highlight of night, we were all jumping striaght up and down. After that left about 20 min into Wippenbergs set as had long week ahead and wanted to pace first night as knew it would be last time to get sleep til Monday.

Friday wake up at 2 walk around sobe and go to armani exchange for Wisternhoffs set. Only about 6 people watching him total, 3 fr my group. Went and booth and talked to him for lil bit. First thing he say's are you stalking me bwahahahah! Course not. We all had a good laugh at that esp my gf.

Friday night for dinner ended back up at Oceans ten. At this point we decided we have fell in love with the margarita served with 10 coronas turned up upside down in glass. They are so good. Will be making some of those at pool party this year. Friday night was really night we had been waiting for. Nocturnal for Schulz Emery ISMA AE. While waiting in line bottle service approaches us, I convicnce the crew will be worth it and definatly was. Got good corner boooth on terrace and bribbed my way for extra wristbands so all our friends could come back there. Nice to be able to sit for minute and take a break. Also, the can get a couple more hours out of the girls if they can sit down every once in awhile. Isma-ae and Emery both were amazing. Sound on terrace was great. Went downstairs couple time for parts of Schulz set and Wippenbergs. Both sounded good to me, but for people that complain sound was bad idk. I always have at least one high fidelity earplug in which I know clears up the sound somewhat. I thought it sounded flawless. At 7 gf is worn out after being there for over 8 hrs. So home we go and then to beach to chill for couple hours.

Now it's sat morn
Go have some Breakfast at news cafe. so good after not eating for past 16 hrs. Continue post later.

excellent review, that joris voorn set was amazing on the terrace, who was the guy next to him through the whole set?

also your hotel room looks cool, which hotel is that and how much did it cost and how many people it fits?

thanks

Hey everyone, glad you had a nutty WMC .. thanks everyone who came to our boat parties. Despite Friday being rained out, I'm glad everyone had a good time. I was the one who had to take the call at 7am to find out that we had to move the sound off the top deck or else the sound ppl were pulling out of the party entirely.

We tried everything in our power to keep the sound on the top deck but it just couldn't be done. There was just too much overcast that day that we couldn't even remap our route or buy tarps. It's a shame but I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves anyway!!

Next year we'll team up with the Chinese government to change the weather patterns.
