Get a bengal cat. They're fucking awesome. My brother has one named Indiana. He's the best cat in the world. The only cat worth owning IMO. I want a white one.

I used to think the same thing. German Shepherd being my fav big dog...

However, then this ewok-monkey thing came along...

I wanted one too! But the shelter had a tiger-striped-like tabby, and I couldn't leave him behind

I'm sorry for making you feel sad.
It wasn't what I was aiming for. His sole purpose in life was to make people happy.
He was a great dog, and he's really sorely missed, I'm pissed at myself that he was the one that had to be my learning curve, but at the same time, I'm so happy for everything he taught me about being a dog owner.

Because of what happened to him, I feel like I can get a little annoying when I start preaching the importance of knowing what bloat is, and how to deal with it and how important it is to know what to do to anyone who has a large breed dog, or a deep chested dog. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE educate yourself on it. It's literally a matter of life and death with your pooch.

I wish I would have known earlier. Nax might still be here.

That's great advice.

The same thing happened to my Doberman / German Shepherd. Luckily, my sister is a vet technician and noticed it within a hour. He was rushed over to the clinic for surgery and were able to save him.

You really do have to watch it with any large breed dog. My aunt had many Great Danes put down because of this problem. The great dane she has now just had surgery for a flipped stomach. The worse thing is it can happen at any time...you just don't know.

Its ok...as long as you have great memories and you can learn something from the experience thats what matter most.

From what I understand, Danes are the ones that are most suseptible to it. 50/50 chance that your dog gets bloat, and if you don't know how to deal with it then...

Most dane owners carry a bloat kit every where they have the dog. I'm definitely in the process of putting a couple together for Axel, for the car and for home. He's no where near as deep chested as Naxton but it's better safe than sorry.

Meeko at 5 months

He's still got a lot to learn, and I didn't keep up on the training during the winter, so it's time to go nuts again lol

Be forewarned that German Shepherds drop massive turds.

I have a gold pomeranian-chihuahua named Lola
lap dog my ass
she's fucking hyper, hilarious and very mischievious
At one year old she has also grown to the size of a small Beagle

When I'm older, I want to buy the ugliest, saddest, wrinkliest Basset Hound I can find and call him "Mr. Brightside"
