Being a Tranceaddict I would have loved to see an all trance DJ line up, but Cream is not just Trance. I think there is something for everyone. I m very happy to discover a new Dutch DJ, his latest gig was awesome.

So, you discovered him?
Wow, it took you a while bro... no offence or anything, but the guy has been DJing and producing for a while now... A while!

And I was actually considering buying a ticket and attending this event, but 2 hours of Green Velvet? I would flip out after 2 minutes and start kicking people around me! No, just no... forget it.

I guess my visit to Montreal at the end of august will end earlier than I expected... Toronto's Summers End seems like a better choice now for that Sunday night out, waaaay better!

Posted by Durafei on Jul-24-2002 02:03:

People are so quick at turning their backs on companies who have been bringing them great DJs for many years.
Tiesto, Oakenfold, Digweed, Paul Van Dyk. All these and many more DJs have been brought to Montreal by 514 first.
And now, that 514 are not doing so well, people instead of supporting, turn their backs on them.. how typical.

Posted by DJHappy on Jul-24-2002 02:18:

Tough crowd

Even after 514 decided to

moove Tiesto from Sona to a larger venue

some montreal TA where still unhappy, so nothing new.

Fantom when I said new I meant new for montreal scene not as a new dj

lol

If you want your voices to get heared use the 514 MB.

Don t expect me to reply to every post

PLUR!

Posted by Biggy on Jul-24-2002 02:21:

People don't care who bring who first!!
People want to have fun and don't want to pay for nothing! When I am going to see/hear Madonna (exemple), do I care about who is producing the show? NOOOO!

If Montreal canadiens hockey team change of owner, do you think I will stop going to matchs? NO

People want to see/hear good talents and if 514 can't provide this to people they should stop producing partys! 50$ for these dj's still too much to me!

I am producing a party in Quebec city at a same price venue, DJ line-up is moe expensive (Armin Van Buuren etc..) and the tickets price is from 20$ to 45$ at the door. We will have 5000 people there and we will make money so 514 will make a lot of money with Cream if they have 6000 - 7000 people. But they will not get as much as 6000 for sure.

Posted by DARK MAN X on Jul-24-2002 02:57:

the problem with this party isnt the line up or the ticket prices, considering its 25$ any other night to go to sona( the sweat pit), so for 50$ yet get to at least a really good venue adn a crazy light show(apparently). its the bullshit, "concentrating on bringing the best line up", this is the worst line up ive ever seen for a 514 party and for them to ditch oasis and say cream will be great amazing is horseshit. they are either lacking the funds to pay for intl talent or arnt putting the effort. i guess they feel people will go no matter who spins, and in the end they will probably be right, im sure they will still have a pretty good turn out, im done
peace

Posted by Biggy on Jul-24-2002 03:24:

Moi je dis qu'ils vont avoir un maximum de 4000 personnes pour Cream cette anne!

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-24-2002 03:35:

like DMX said , even if CREAM had only XL vs LAFLCHE 16 HOURS SET , there will still be people going , a lot of them don't care who's playing and what's playing ... people like VINNIE , MICHAEL and PAULO eventually

514's strategy is stupid :
-lower the price = more people
-but lower the quality of the line-up = LESS people

i expect a maaaaaaaaaaaaaximum of 5000 persons , not more

*edit*

and no i'm still not going , unless DJHappy hooks me up with a free pass , then i might check the 90 minutes set of Cor then get the heck out of the Molson Center

Posted by Durafei on Jul-24-2002 04:12:

Biggy, I'm not sure about prices for venues, but Molson Centre MUST be VERY expensive(add lot's of security, molson centre workers, cleaners etc etc etc). That probably explains the high ticket price. Besides, how many people does 514 have working for them? Working for such company is probably a full time job, yet their income only comes a few times a year. You are making less money, but every week. Do you expect them to make as much as you do, but only 5-6 times a year?

By the way, how much does Armin cost?

Posted by Czaoth on Jul-24-2002 04:38:

Durafei, you are off the mark. This isn't about loyalty and supporting a company thru hard times. We aren't turning our backs on anything, we are just deciding how we want to spend our entertainment dollar. Fact of the matter is, the competition in Montreal is cranking up and Sona is losing some of it's abilities to book that it had when no one was else was competing with them.

Posted by ZinG on Jul-24-2002 04:48:

its true Durafei your off topic here, and i think you are asking a club owner/event manager about Molson center expecting him to tell u that 5000 pple cant cover the price of the place?
do the maths dude.
dont forget sponsors play a big role in this.
u got lots to learn
