We had a good laugh when we first saw it, because when he jerks off he's gonna have to see his sisters name!

I duh know, most are pretty gay. I think they work for fraternal orders or expressions of camaraderie (like soldiers tattooing their unit on their arm or something), but otherwise its just kinda stupid. I think its a pretty "hey look at me" sorta thing that just gets dumber as you get older.
Also I think that people that get tattoos, especially full up body tattoos have a subconscious idea that they will either die young or always be young which is just... well stupid.
One person with a tattoo is fucked up so they all must be fucked up!
I also enjoy complaining about other peoples problems. I got nothing else going on in my life to worry about, so I focus on everyone else! I like to bitch and complain about shit that doesn't matter!!!

I have no interest in getting a tattoo, but I do enjoy seeing other people's and hearing the story behind it.
i'm all for personal expression and stuff; but if you don't hav emoney to put food on the table for your family, you shouldn't be putting ink in your skin; unless it's a good friend of yours and it's a Bic.

| Originally posted by saymyname My girlfriend occasionally mentions that she'd like to get a tattoo, and every day I pray that she never gets round to it. I agree that 90% of tattoos make a person look lowbrow and uneducated or at least too spontaneous for their own good. Some tattoos look good on girls, like something neutral on the lower back or other rarely-seen areas. Always black, colour tattoos always look dreadful. |
i have 3
first one when i was 16, my mother took me to get it done, my grandmother wrote my name in 3 chinese characters which literaly english translation means - brave, honor, middle path in life. it is located on my back from my neck down, single color black ink in original chinese script (clean letters no brush marks)
2nd tattoo when i was 21, outlined band around my bicep broken by the chinese character music, english literal translation means rhythm of life (like a heartbeat) located on my tricep. band outline symbolizes that life is an outline, living it can be filled in so many ways. translation to life is about the journey not the destination, music/rhythm of life will take you there.
3rd tattoo - when I was 25. Half sleeve right arm shoulder to elbow. i took my father to get a tattoo, i surprised him with a meeting with my artist. If I could take a picture of the smile on his face when I told him, I will die with that picture in my mind. He wanted a snake on his arm, mouth closed, tongue out, not in a striking position (coiled up). His session took 1 sitting for 3 hours, single color, symbolizes his chinese birth sign. I took his tattoo, the snake, and made it into a sleeve, same snake in a japanese waterfall, with rocks, waves, and bamboo. Top shoulder has clouds swirls which make up the waterfall. It's my father inked on my right arm (I'm a lefty) symbolizes my father being with me all my life on my right hand side. 10 hrs, 3 sessions, black with accent and fades, green under belly of snake, white scales single needle full bleed work.

my 4th one is currently being designed/drawn. It will be done once I finish the NY Triathlon as a memorial to accomplishing a goal that I never thought I would be able to do. Incorporated in this tribute tattoo will be a sanskrit saying related to the enduring of life through an active lifestyle to remind me that life is what you make it and to continue to do it through your whole life. will include the date of the the ny tri as well 7/18/10 which has numbers of my birthday 10/18. location is either on my wrist, forearm, or on my inside back heel under my ankle bone. have not decided yet
Nice one Bas

I'm seriously considering having one done when I finish my degree or masters. This is something I never thought I could achieve...I thought I had intellectually peaked at 18 after doing so-so in school and dropping out of college twice. But now i'm on course to get one of the top 10 grades out of my class of 100 or so.
I am torn between a science tattoo...and have been getting some cool ideas from this website: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/l...attoo-emporium/
Or I have been thinking of getting something like a sentence from some of the proverbs that got me through some tough times, like "When the horse runs off..."
