hehe.. you gonna use pirated software in the music business? tsk tsk. j/k

im experimenting more on producing myself (with soft synths such as Reason), maybe in a years time- I will have a nice setup and the ability to put together some decent tracks.. but its all about the learning curve & testing my creativity.

on the money side, i'll probably spend more money on spinning.

either way- im very interested in this idea & would like to help out in any way. At this point, the best thing I can provide is graphics design. (3 years experience w/it)

woo hoo count me in!

Hey guys you can definitely count me in! I'm a trance DJ from NYC I've been spinning for, let's just say a while! I play several shows around the country a year and would be more than happy to spin some good TA stuff! I'm also a producer who is working on new stuff as we speak! I've done some stuff in the past if you're curious and want to hear it you can go to: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/24/instant_space.html
keep in mind that that stuff was done about three years ago, but you get the idea! Anyways sorry to ramble but count me in!

and see wut everyone thinks..
alritez.. ummmm whats the best way of contact ya guys think?
over TA?
over ICQ?
Email?
AIM?
yahoo?
name it!

me thinks icq would be the best bet since most people are on that or even if we start up a hotmail account or somethin' JUST for this label project. hehe. maybe [email protected]. that way people can just post their ideas and updates and what not on there and everyone can access it here on TA.

Posted by breakdown on Apr-07-2001 16:19:

icq is good actually =p
everyone who DOESN"T have icq yet.. go get it NOW hehe
well u don't HAVE to.. but ur at a loss there!
and ummmm everyone add everyone?? lol

Posted by Linx_da_cat on Apr-07-2001 16:22:

hmm...not neccessarily. hehe. like get all the producers to together and shit, blah blah blah. that's the good thing about icq. they have that 'group' option so you can add certain users. so logically in this case, you could create a group on you icq called 'producers' and have everyone who's a producer on there. i still think the general email addy for all of us is good too because we all live in different time zones.

ICQ sounds like a great thing to use to keep contact, together with this board, and maybe an irc channel

Tu_Face . . .

I mentioned this little ( to be big ) project to the owner of the Palace Ballroom and u have a guranteed venue,
btw Dave Pearce opened this club ( lol i know how some of u love Dave Pearce :P )
and from one end of the country ( Essex ) to the other
i also got a venue in Devon who will also give u a night on their decks
that place is called Marisco's and they sort of have a monopoly in their area for nightlife
Sat nite is thier trance night.

Kings in colchester and canvey are also quite big venues that i am also sounding out for u
thats the 4 i have visted this week lol
many more to come

Managing clubs for....well, a long ass time and having thrown a few parties myself, I could contribute to business affairs/promotion. My best friend is part of a new production company here in Dallas so, we got some dj's. I know plenty of bar/club owners with money to invest. We can do a Gatecrasher/MinistryOfSound hybrid--worldwide parties while pumping out cd sets thru-out the year. This is a damn good idea and definately doable.

Posted by tu_face on Apr-07-2001 23:11:

Lookin extremely promising for getting an opening night sorted, which is very very cool , but we still havent heard what the big dude thinks, after all its his site name we are using here

peace

Posted by goodnet on Apr-07-2001 23:46:

k well im sure hes seen this allready, seeing how its so huge. hes prolly trying to get his thoughts & ideas worked out on this before saying anything... thats my guess anyway

Posted by arturob on Apr-07-2001 23:49:

me agrees with u.

C'mon Swaper.
You're the man,
so give it a chance, and if you don't like it, you should be able to call it off any time, right guys?

Tu_face, Infinity,
If you need someone to run the biznezz for Holland, be sure to reach me.
The major problem is that I just deleted ICQ because it slowed down my system too much.

OK, something needs to be clarified... do you guys want swamper's upper hand in this (ie. he devotes time to help running this)- or do you just want to use the tranceaddict name?

starting a label doesnt really sound like an idea that you could typically throw away & forget. requires alotta thought and time i suspect (i know relativly little of the music business myself)

Posted by tu_face on Apr-08-2001 11:24:

the trancEaddict label is what we want, if swamper lets us use the name that is. if he wants to contribute thats cool as fuck (as i said earlier, the more the merrier) but if he aint got the time das sound too.. jus like anyone else.

peace

Posted by breakdown on Apr-08-2001 21:23:

i'm gonna BUMP this
hehe
sticky this dammit! lol
please swamper?
please????

hehe oh yea.. i don't think we should go for the club JUST yet..
unless its easy..
but if anything
concentration on Label is the thing we're aiming for?
maybe? hehe

Posted by Linx_da_cat on Apr-08-2001 21:25:

yep yep. i agree. we jumped ahead of ourselves there, not that havin' scouts for clubs is bad! but we need to plan and think about the actual label itself first...

Posted by Thor on Apr-08-2001 21:35:

Arrow

Cool idea, there's lots of things that need to be ironed out, but the concept is a good one.

I'm working on my Business Administration and Marketing degree, plus I co-own a business in Iceland.. So if you want any help, I love this kind of thing...

We would of course need a kick ass website, and maybe have some talent scouts..

Financially there are lots of options, but if at all possible we could have a private ownership with TA's all buying into the company to own shares of the company.

Still, to make things run smooth, ideally you want a major owner. If you have too many owners, nothing will get done.

Cheers,

Thor....

Posted by tu_face on Apr-08-2001 21:47:

the club thing, was just an idea to get the label promoted.. just hold a trancEaddict night somewhere, featring DJ's/artists under the label...

As for the website.. what is this we are on now?! its the TA label, and we got plenty of ppl offering web design stuff, so maybe they could make the label sections for this site?

Oh and i put a thread up in the DJ zone for artists.. so that should come up with a few more

peace
