I just finished all the credits towards my B.A. in Psych but have no interest in it at all. Now I have to stick around school and force myself through all the math courses I've avoided my whole life in order to go after what I actually want to spend my life working in: Particle Physics .

That means I'll probably have to wait another year before applying to grad schools in Europe, FML.

i have to go to work in 5 minutes.

You want a life in physics but you don't like math? Or just specific math classes that you've avoided?

My new 27" screen is so big and I don't have space on my desk so it's a bit too close right now.

I've liked math all of my life, and excelled in it until I hit a wall around mid high school and it stopped coming as easy to me as it used to. Listened to some people I shouldn't have and pursued social sciences even though i'd been in bio/chem/sci all my life up until the beginning of undergrad. math still doesn't come easy/natural to me, but within the past year I've just been willing to put in the hard work, and break through that wall. Don't know if it'll ever come easy to me, but it doesn't matter. Anyone can do math, it's just about repetition. Up until graduation though, I'd been telling my parents I was going to stick with psych or go to law school lol, f#@% THAT!

What do you buy a rich person for their birthday who pretty much has everything and isn't satisfied with anything?

/my shopping dilemma for the day

I have two candidates I want to hire but in order to get the salary numbers they want I have to move some money around in the budget... which means cheaper lunches at staff meetings. Fuck my life!

That's marketing... you gotta spend money to make money.

I got a new job, got yet another free car with free petrol, rego, service and insurance, but it's not really the one I wanted. FML

I planned on working from home today, but I forgot my work laptop at the office and could only go and get it later in the evening. Now I have to work on fascinating problems all night, while getting paid an enviable internship salary. I also have to make some more figures for a paper I'm getting published. Fuck!

So we're going to sit around eating, drinking and watching the England v. Algeria match this afternoon. The management team decided that we'd bring in food and beer from different world cup competing teams; I chose Algeria. One small problem I discovered at the liquor store last night... THE GOVERNMENT CONTROLED LIQUOR STORES (only in Ontario) DON'T CARRY ANY ALGERIAN BEER! I ended up getting some Portuguese beer instead. Stupid socialist liquor laws

Work told me today that a while back they decided that business travel expenses would be the same company wide but instead of lowering the higher positions expenses, they decided to give everyone the same level as a global executive. Mini bar included.
My travel expense limits are now more than double what I had previously for food and almost three times more for accommodation, on top of many other benefits.

I'm not sure I can handle all these new positive things!

Consider yourself lucky... my sister-in-law has to travel on her company's private jet.
