Yeah, he like totally owned him, like totally because he had on a mask and told off that cop using uh... like it sounded like logic, but it wasn't... what's the word I'm looking for? HYPERBOLE! That's what it is, cause he's saying the weapons belong to the people! Yeah! /mother_fucking_idiot

And I'm not saying that this idiot doesn't have a good cause but when he does shit like this, ignoring the fact that he's behaving in an adversarial fashion and that many of the people who purport to be in his organization go around smashing windows of places like Starbucks (Really? Fucking Starbucks?!), he comes off like a total douche.

i agree.

most of the 'peaceful' protesters were just as moronic as the petty vandals.

some woman got knocked over by police and she hurt her knee, and the guy was saying 'it's just police brutality, nothing else'

just young punks with nothing to do that particular saturday. i thought the cops did a great job. maybe a little excessive on the arrests, but nobody got hurt.

perfect...the media and the people are now focused on the violence and the purpose of the protests(which is a shame because we should be focusing on this) are no longer in sight...smashed windows and police cars being set ablaze is all i'm seeing and hearing now...the first day consisted of peaceful parades then boom ... day 2 black bloc ..

4 - 5 cop cruisers were set ablaze, security for g20 reaching 900$ million plus, 19,000 security personnel deployed ..

Toronto's police chief is admitting there never was a five-metre rule that had people fearing arrest if they strayed too close to the G20 security perimeter.

Civil libertarians were fuming after hearing Friday that the Ontario cabinet gave police the power to stop and search anyone coming within five metres of the G20 fences in Toronto for a one week period.

However, the Ministry of Community Safety says all the cabinet did was update the law that governs entry to such things as court houses to include specific areas inside the G20 fences not outside.

A ministry spokeswoman says the change was about property, not police powers, and did not include any mention of a zone five metres outside the G20 security perimeter.

When asked Tuesday if there actually was a five-metre rule given the ministry's clarification, Chief Bill Blair smiled and said, No, but I was trying to keep the criminals out.

Premier Dalton McGuinty still hasn't explained why cabinet passed the regulation change in secret, and then kept it secret.

Even though it wasn't accurate, the public was left to believe the province had given officers the power to demand identification and detain anyone within five metres of the G20 site.

All weekend there were reports of police stopping people throughout downtown Toronto often in areas nowhere near the G20 zone demanding identification and to search bags and backpacks.

The Toronto Police is fucked pure and simple.

LMAO at most of the posts here. Shouldn't be surprised though. This is the c0r after all, where any form of thought is lost once the page is loaded.

Anyways the police, the city, province and country all fucked this situation up in a very disgusting way. I'm actually surprised that they're getting away with all this shit. But then again, majority of the population doesn't really give a shit. They're more concerned getting their brand new revolutionary iPhones, watching American/Canadian Idol, etc. Man I love living in a free society!

What's that a picture of in your avatar? Hrmmm? What's that? What is it? Tell me?

Do you honestly think such a cool thing, like the thing you have in your avatar, would be possible WITHOUT all of the technological innovation brought about by people who have also participated in advancing the technology requisite for devices like the iPhone? Do you really think any of the people you've referred to would be any happier if you had your way? What utter-fucking-hubris. They don't want your pity. They don't want your idealized utopia. They don't give a shit about what you think.

It's not a question of being wholly for or against technology. That's a bogus dichotomy.

Nevertheless, it is technology parcel to the use of both items and developed as the result of economics. To decry the people who use iPhones and watch American Idol is as useless and specious as the unabomber manifesto.

I interpreted him as meaning that it's silly to consider such things as the pinnacle of your existence, especially without even considering the global realities that allow you to obtain them so cheaply and easily. This thread was full of mindless defense of the status quo; surely we can agree on that much.

I understand that, but it's a dismissive attitude which places his awareness above the society's. It also counts the failures without looking at the successes achieved by the society - and transmitted on a network, no less, which also allows for the use of such devices. To be clear, I believe there are better and more humane ways for our society(ies) to exist, but the same slogans, advanced now for nearly half a century, I heard living in a co-op at the University of Texas, years ago - disparaging remarks which casts out all but the most stoic of thinkers - are not part of that solution.

Btw, iPhones may get a good deal more expensive:

China might not be willing to give us those fourteen and sixteen hour workdays with tiny wages too much longer.

Steve will beat the workers until they get lower wages

No need for a beating. He can just use his Reality Distortion Field to convince them that they are already earning $1,000 an hour.

There are more and more Canadians with more questions demanding for a public inquiry, so far all levels of Government have ignored all the demands and treating as if nothing ever happend.

Here is just an example of how ordinary people were treated during G20 in Toronto:

I have a friend in the CF and he was deployed to the G20 and he said it was the most boring shit ever.
