Think it's produkt/playground. Regardless Carl
Cox at a rave = win

Posted by techno_addict on Sep-18-2010 01:20:

90 to see carl cox alone is really too much !!!

Posted by kanaBEATya on Sep-19-2010 21:55:

Tribe was sketch. When you have international DJs every thursdays in a club that only fits 600 people and you can afford to give free guestlists you know something is fishy in there... On the same line, 65$ ticket for a 3000 people rave isn't the norm nowadays! I dont think I've seen that kind of pricing coming from Bal en Blanc Productions in a while (even Axwell was 50$ in an outdoor setting). Stereo charges 40$ for one big name a night! So let the bets beging... I think Lawler + Cox will be at least 85$....International DJs just cost way too much money (princess fees)....!!

$85 for both.....I'm in, but not for just one.

ya eff that

if coxy is over 60 i'll be going to stereo only

doesnt make sense, BEB is 90 and many more djs + 2 rooms, etc

Posted by robbiej on Sep-23-2010 12:59:

cox will be 35 + fees so around 50

Not sure what's really happening

i know ive posted this somewhere else in this forum, but now im adding #5 to the list ....... ive always had a lot of respect for the organization but what the hell is productions playground doing?

1) spring 2010: epic failure for tiesto at time supperclub (party stopped by the cops)
2) summer 2010: tons of sound complaints for tiesto at beachclub
3) sensation 2010: from the bell to red lite?!? then cancelled
4) october 10: throwing an event the same night as black & blue???
5) cancelling the event (the second cancellation in a month)

stick to BEB and Resolution. they were both great this year!

it's a shame for Montreal's party scene. way to kill the little US tourism we're slowly getting back since the recession.... and way to go on dividing the gay community by throwing an event (clearly targetting gays) on the same night as black & blue.

it's a shame, but it's sadly the direction this scene is heading in at the moment. no sense of togetherness whatsoever.

You probably meant recession...

But you sum it up very well. I don't know how big of an organization they are, but it certainly looks like heads should start rolling. Otherwise they're gonna put that business to the ground.

list gets even more embarrassing when you include Sensations from 08 and 09, overpacked BeBs, etc. At least the dj bookings are decent

I can understand a misshap happening every now and then, but the series of recent failure screams incompetency. Someone somewhere is not doing the job right.

Posted by Spin Laden on Sep-24-2010 18:24:

well, I personally ran out of gas bitching about this in 2008

I have noticed PP is not the most popular around here... But from what I can tell, the main complaints tended to revolve around the musical selection. Sure, there were a few hiccups at BeB with the line-up, Sensation always seem to have its issues , but overall, for the thousand of people inside the place, the party was a success. Even some of the most vocal trance hater on this board had to confess having a good time.

The last string of problems that were just pointed out are something else entirely. Canceling international DJs at the last minute, I would guess, cost a lot money. And having your name consistently associated with crappy parties is not good for the PP brand. The comments (now deleted I believe) on Facebook after the last events were quite telling.

Sensation is the ugly sister of the three massives, the Kloe Kardashian if you will
