Yeah, every Deadmau5 mix I've heard the preview for looks like it sucks pretty hard. But I still have hope.
Also, what does DJ Hero have to do with this topic? Not complaining, but wut?

I don't think it's because he chooses not to, he just "sold out" if you will.. I hate that expression, because he is a business man and he is making the music that his biggest fan base likes, which is fart electro and now dubstep.. he's a fantastic producer and I have no doubt he can still produce some fantastic prog, it's just thats not where the money is. Deadmau5 is no longer an artist, he's a brand name.
I was thoroughly enjoying his live set on Ustream... the best part is that there is a live chat next to the streaming video with like 8000 people asking "What is this music? This is not Deadmau5 is it? Did he play Ghosts N Stuff yet?" I LOL'd.
