Yeah I love Vancouver (hell, I love all of BC).
I hate southern ontario. I hate living near toronto because of all the polution from t.o and from the states that comes up.
I am sick of these 30+ degrees celcius days with 88% rel. humidity.
that's why I am gonna live out west in BC when I finish all my school.
The original post mentioned they wanted a warmer country... they were also american so that means there sick of america end of that subject!
Heres my reccomendation for my good american friend:
Come Live in Mexico!
Thats right Home of Plenty Weed, corrupt police, beutiful women, great beaches, marvelous psychotropics, 24 hour plus trance parties, and other disgruntled americans...
Here we dont want to police the world and other peoples live we want to live good, fed and happy!!!! and raving!!!

Yeh, this thread got off topic and is definitely off course. Just wanna say, I really didn't mean to offend anyone......The dilemma between the U.S. and Canada has been goin on forever......But, saying outrageous comments, like that the U.S. is "screwing the world", is just plain ignorance in my opinion.....

| Originally posted by SportTrance I have absolutely NOTHING against Canadians, but Canadians that have this "grudge" towards the U.S., I do. But, in all honesty, we really don't care. To me, and millions of others, and our schools, Canada is just "there"....... We aren't looking for pride, joy or credit. Its like you are blaming us for holding all the North American spot lights in general. The economic spotlight, the entertainment spotlight, etc.etc.....I mean is it really our fault? Do you think I sit down, watch tv, and eat up all this bullshit that this country spits out? No, I never said we are the best, but we definitely aren't the worst. I believe the history in general tells a lot, about this grudge between the French/British Canadians, and the United States......I don't wanna get mean, its pretty uncalled for, but making accusations you can't back up, or honestly, out of pure jealousy, is just ridiculous. Cuz that is exactly what you guys posting sound like. A bunch of Canadians pissed off cuz we run the show on this continent. |
blah blah blah
a lot of american tourist in amsterdam think the Euro is called.....a EURO DOLLAR!!!
But there's other americans too...the ones that value the power of the entire world..instead of only the power of the USA
the ones that do take the trouble to travel to other countries and actually LEARN from their trips...(you know who you are)..the ones that are genuinly interested in other cultures and other nation;s history etc
yay
END OF DISCUSSION *sigh*

| Originally posted by quddha No, I don't think Canadians care if the States is the largest power in the world. This has nothing to do with jealousy or envy. To think that is ludicrous, I know alot of Americans think "Oh they hate us because they're just jealous that we're rich and powerful" but that's not the reason. Take this example, a buddy of mine works at the CN Tower. He gets alot of American tourists, and they get on his nerves all the time. Once, this guy asks him if the prices are in Canadian or American dollars. OK, duh, you're in Canada, of course its in Canadian dollars, What do you expect all our prices to cater towards Canadians and Americans cuz USA is the centre of the world? I don't go into an american store and ask if the price is in Canadian? And he has the audacity to get frustrated and suggest that prices be posted in American as well!!! LOL! Or the woman who got confused with Canadian currency, and had to ask what the denominations are for the different bills. DUH Its printed in the corners, and they're each different colours! Ok, that last one was just pure stupidity, but the first one just goes to show the attitude that Americans bring across when travelling. SO yes, you guys do build a bad reputation for yourselves, and I KNOW that not all of you guys are like this, but when you do travel abroad, its these types that stick out in your mind and you remember. So it has nothing to do with, "I'm jealous that USA gets hollywood and disneyworld and super-big army," Cuz really, most Canadians don't care, it just causes unneeded attention and spotlight we don't want. Its the general attitudes of the American people, specifically tourists that give you guys a bad name. |
