Thanks. I had to think ahead, a lot. Most of it was done in Reason 3 but I had to kind of anticipate how it was going to be mixed when I ported the stems over to Sonar. I also had to do a lot of recycling (as mentioned earlier) of parts which had played one part that would then play another. It's one of the reasons that the Rhodes and Pianos are so prevalent throughout.


Fallouts 1 & 2 were pinnacles of RPG gore. While Fallout 3 does alright, for quasi-FPS game-play, they've traded off some of the detail with the way the various weapons affected each of the targets; and on multiple levels, no less. Hitting a target with the SMG could result in the loss of the head, or it could hit the center mass and cause the target to convulse anatomically as he or she was being riddled with holes; spitting blood out from each bullet's impact. They could be torn asunder with limbs exploding. Some of it was even more disturbing, like the panicked dancing of a person immolated with a flame-thrower.

Perusing the last 30 minutes of this gave me the hankering to go watch the movie Tuck Everlasting so I'll let you know how this pans out for me.

I�ll give a proper listen with some more time, so far, I find it really nice, subtle, smooth and charming, with a very sophisticated atmosphere. My only nitpick, is that I find the kick a bit aggressive in contrast with the other elements vibe.

This was well worth the listen, this takes you places, if I recal you either did something like this last year or this is the same one but with extra added pzzazz?

Either way a mighty effor and something that really sounds great.

Something that did cross my mind though is that maybe you ought to try using key changes in places, just as an extra injection of energy. If they are already there and they are just too well crafted and I missed them the kudos to you.

Always nice to hear something different other than the amen trancers... although I do make those myself.

@ Nem: I posted this (http://www.mediafire.com/?rznj22ep9tl) here, quite a while back and this particular version of Superstition was updated, with feedback in mind, twice more after the first posting.

Music For a Nervous Night (mix quality is horrendous, by all standards, and it is both chock full of bad ideas and completely neglected real-estate) was my first full-mix album, patched together out of songs I'd recently finished with newly acquired software. (My brother has about eight earlier songs I made that may well constitute the "first".)

There are key changes in Superstition. At some points in the process, I'd think to myself, Jesus, I can't keep going on in this key and even if I just revert to A minor. It was less about being clever or even keeping it interesting for the listener and more about maintaining the challenge of doing it. The most prominent one is at the end where I was down-shifting out and just made it a point to start substituting notes in an entirely different key, almost to make a point that something different was happening.

Regardless, thanks for the tip and the kudos.

Actually listened to this a few times now and I also have it on my MP3 player so it is now my official sound track for mooching around. And yes, as you stated key changes are there. First time I listened was at work and it's not the best environment for doing that.

Hang on. I'll actually work that, right now. It might be in two parts and different from the original, but I think I can have a couple of tunes put together out of those parts, in short order.

Man, Time Sliced and Dream Sliced are really different listening for me. They are so restrained and subtle. They remind me of what Nick Warren is spinning these days. I definitely pick up a distinct feel you have created and enjoyed getting sucked in to something unique and different.

So where can i listen to this?
