Nou is right, you know. Denying that there's such a thing as "low intensity war" because being shot at is very intense is not a valid argument when it comes to military expenditure. Everything Lilith has said has just been an ad hominem against Nou, rather than any kind of countera-argument to his point.

I've invested in dozens of companies, all it takes is a couple of hours of thorough research to give you a good idea where a company is headed, thats a far cry from making me an expert in the field.

You invest to make money, not to become an expert in the field. 2 different things.

Nou didn't say that. He may have been stupid enough to get into a "My tangential relationship to military expenditure is better than yours" contest when called on it, but in his original point he didn't refer to himself or his activities in any way. All Lilith did was get angry and emotional about a detached military term, as though Nou invented and defined it.

i dont think lil was claiming to be an expert on the topic of warfare (though we know she's been far closer to the fallout than nou is ever likely to be), just that making games hardly makes one an expert either, and attempts to extrapolate that experience to the real life capabilities or impacts is problematic. the idea that you'd "take advice on military stuff from a person who's job it is to simulate military stuff" is absurd, when you'd quite obviously take advice from someone who's actually been involved with the real deal.

You've said it your self but aren't willing to take the affirmitive stance on it. I would think that a person who is responsible for "simulating" something is more of an expert in the field theoretically then an investor.
An investor is simply in the game to make money and doesnt care about the nitty gritty details that make the machine run.

as an investor, you look at a company to see if its profitable and understand its expenditures relative to the industry that its in.


Hope you see my point here.

pkc I was referencing facts on the ground and statistics. Very important bits of info when determining the strength of a military.

Lilith even bitched about how the ADF is funded and has little ability to rapidly deploy its heavy forces to which I agreed. I said that the ADF can only rapidly deploy its light infantry forces (that includes APC/IFV that air-mobile) to conflict zones it might alone be involved with.

I was basically agreeing with her and she told me to STFU because I don't know shit because I troll people here or I am an asshole (she still can't get her facts straight on that either, she thinks I am Radagast and I post nude pics of female TAs ).

So yea, she negates her own views because I agree with her, which makes it kind of sad that her views are so easily manipulated.

And PKC, I write software to train military forces, and in a pretty extensive part of the field, communications (radios, networks, etc) so having a larger grasp of the fundamentals of armed forces and how they operate in different situations is fairly essential. You do not become a viable competitor in this field without at least some basic knowledge, and the ability to know who to talk to and what information to reference.
