/\ Damn that was fast. It took me 3 hours just to get to bar 17 but I'm loving what I got so far. Its a fast 138bpm trance track with a gated fm bass. The bass is fast and driving and I did some sweet slicing on the vocals to bring the main beat in. I just hope I can finish it'll really depend on the melodies at this point.

Hey Mise - I really like the laid-back groove and the sparse production - it gives the song a mysterious vibe that works well with the lyrics/subject of the song. But, the timing on the vocals is off - I can't tell if it's because they weren't time-stretched right or maybe it's just an alignment/synch'ing issue, but they're out of time with the music. Or, maybe you did it on purpose to give it a off-time, spacey vibe?

Nice! I like the vocal chops, especially the ones that you hear at the end of the clip as it's fading out. Looking forward to hearing the full track!

What do you all use for time shifting? I use the "fit to tempo" feature in FL Studio, sometimes it works well, other times not. I time shifted 'I Believe' to around 130 BPM or so, but the vocals weren't timed right. I'm sticking with the original tempo, I already spent hours chopping the vocals up. I'm making a house remix, so that tempo is OK. For the future though, I'd like to be able to pull off the perfect time shift. Some of you guys here seem to be able to do it at will.

I'm doing a mix of I Believe. Like Robby, its a 138bpm trancer. I did start on the breakdown, wrote chords and a melody but got the feeling the melody wasn't working so it's been scrapped. Got a nice beat and bassline going now though so guna build around that with the chords I have.

by the way, considering making changes to the buildup to my track posted above, to have the kick added before the vocals along with some variations to the bass, also considering having a more simple, housey layout of the percs, hihats and snare. what do you guys think?
