Owning a great dane is equivalent to traveling to Delaware.

You should definitely call the dog Delaware. That would make it cool.

To Bas, if you want to get a huge dog (100+ lbs), get a Bernese Mountain Dog. They're gorgeous, and depending on how you raise them, they can be a lot of fun too.
I was talking to a guy the other day while walking my dog, and he said his was about 8 months old and was already 90 pounds. He said they usually get up to around 130.

typical woman, looking down her nose at everything, queen of the castle. I love the energy of springers though, and having grown up amongst them from a baby, just have a special love for them.

I like dogs in general, as long as they're medium sized-large because you can walk them for miles and they don't get tired, unlike the lazy small dogs. As the oldest in my generation, I hadn't got brothers or cousins until I was a bit older, so the dogs kept me company, one was born just 7 weeks after I was and he used to be protective of me, if anyone tried to touch me, pick me up to change a nappy or whatever, he used to try & stop them.
