well considering I usually took once or twice a year, and took half a at a time, I wasnt exactly willing to dive into something that looked 3 times as big out of pure fear of DYING!!! LOLOLOL Moderation was my middle name bwahahah! I was never one to test the limits, drooling in a corner wasnt appealing to me......

Jesus christ shut the fuck up. Just because I have done drugs at parties doesn't mean I need them to enjoy the music. If you're going on that rationale than I bet at least 75% of the people on these forums "need" drugs to enjoy the music. Just because you're a little pussy who's afraid of drugs doesn't mean that everyone who does "needs" them. Did you drink when you went to parties? OMG you must "need" alcohol to enjoy the music! Wtf do you think I don't listen to that music at all outside of clubs. It's the type of music I listen to more than any other genre, so you must think I take E every fucking day. Just shut the fuck up about that which you know nothing about.

And HardcoreTrancer, you are without a doubt the dumbest person I've ever come across, and I find it not surprising at all that people from "your" own country think you should be deported.

Is this the same friend that told you that Guv sold to condo developers and is closing in November?

No. Thanks for asking though

The person who told me about the Guv lives in Toronto and personally knows the owners of the Guv.
The person who told me about their lecture lives in Rochester and studies at the same University that I graduated from, which happens to be one of the top research schools in the country

I see what you did there, though. Clever girl.

actually the edm generally has been improving greatly over the last 10yrs. Now sometimes when i turn on most of pre 2006 stuff, other than sentimental value i dont understand how i could actually like that. Now it is just so much less goofy/gay (excluding hipster styles/trance). The speed got more reasonable, the bass got fat and smooth, percs got crisp and accentuated etc etc. and it keeps getting better (even if slowly)

LOL get the fuck out of here you crackhead and stay the hell away from this great country. I like how you have to use someone elses words to fight your own battles on a message board, but then again you are American so no surprise that you act like a pussy.

And I find it funny that you fight "battles" at all on a message board. All I'm doing is pointing out the obvious; that you are, in fact, a moron. That's not a battle, it's just me being much, much more intelligent than you.

Also, I don't need to use someone else's words to show what a complete and utter imbecile you are. Wait, actually I do, but they're your words, so I'm not sure if that counts.

PS, you might not want to call anybody a pussy when your handle is something as faggy as "Hardcore Trancer"

Dude, like or dislike whomever you want, but lets not classify using the "You are american, so you must be pussy" shit. One, that doesnt make a lick of sense, and two, you are obviously using some weird, made-up generalization (that cant possibly apply to an entire population) to fight with some random on a forum.

These "OMG music and the scene has changed" threads are super repetitive.

Yes, it has.

No, it's not going to go back.

Do whatever you want with that. Keep your memories, value them and be glad you were around but then try to enjoy whats available now to the fullest. Or just be bitter and bitch about it while you listen to the same tracks on repeat. Your choice.

Posted by Farbsie on Mar-08-2011 22:11:

I think the biggest issue is that there are so many parties going on. How do you create a solid continuous vibe week to week or month to month when there are 3 concerts and 4-8 club events that are solid on a given night. Too many promoters, too many ipod djs, too many people that dont care about the community and just want to get fucked up.

nobody shows up until midnight -This is a massive problem for our community. It makes the bar owners hesitant to book our shows, it makes people who do show up early uncomfortable in an empty room, and it makes the people who put on the parties cringe.

it used to be about the music.

Sure it CAN get annoying at times BUT why not try and find ways to have a good time with the music/scene that's given me so many good nights??

It's less about the 'commercial djs' and more about those we haven't heard of etc etc etc because as an example Guv back then wasn't anywhere near commercial and you had an amazing vibe/music showcase going on.

And it still is. Not everybody goes out for the novelty of being at a club or to get fucked up.

There are plenty of good shows that go on like the break and enter party with Eddie Richards last week. You just have to look around and avoid going to the typical spots too much. As someone said, there are so many events going on every weekend, so just pick your parties carefully.

I totally agree and if that was the case these threads wouldn't suck. But people being productive and exploring ways the bring it back or enjoy whats out there now is 5% of these threads at most. The other 95% goes something like:

OP: the current state sucks

Vet #1: ya it sucks real bad [reference to something that used to be good and no longer exists as proof of this]

Vet #2: ya it's total garbage, I never go out anymore [story about how badass everything used to be]

New Guy: but i enjoy the current scene so much, how is it possible it used to be better than this?

Angry Vet: [massive troll rant now just not remembering the glory years, but angry they are gone and takes it out on ignorant new guy.]

New Guy: [goes into defense mode, makes the attacks personal and starts bashing cause he refuses to accept that he can't enjoy something that was better than what currently exists blah blah blah]

If you're lucky, someone in there provides rational and lays out the truth with maybe a tip or two of how to enjoy whats out there now. But that always gets buried in the 95% BS.

Ahahah I enjoy your posts. Most of the time they're right on point and logically valid. Keep on writing

Yep. You should've seen the 'trance vs house' flame threads here back in the day, now THOSE were insane.

The scene may never be the same that it was in the 90s but I definitely think the scene goes through cycles. The scene has split off into two different scenes....the commercial scene and the not quite underground scene. As one grows the other shrinks but eventually the tables turn.

Buddy.. The music you're into is covered in hipster douchbags...

And I'm not even gonna get started in how much of an opposite opinion I have on the other characteristics you've listed as being better...
