^exactly what lira has in mind, obviously.
"japanese geologists have amended their initial statements and are now saying it was 8.8 in magnitude. american geologists are sticking with 8.9"
ok guys..
it happened it japan. let's go with what the japanese say.
I am going to bed. I'm sure Lira will post here soon.
*sigh*
I have an 8 page paper due in 6 hours which I haven't written a single word of and I can't seem to do anything except watch Al Jazeera. This is just so terrible.

One of my best friends is in Japan now, but I've got no idea where exactly. She's been backpacking through Asia Pacific the last couple of months, and everywhere she goes, something disastrous happens/has happened.
First she was at a Cambodian festival where hundreds of people were crushed to death, then she went to Australia a few weeks after the floods, then she went to New Sealand right after the quake there and she's been since about a week in Japan now. I texted her after I heard the news this afternoon but I haven't heard back from her... She's probably safe, but shit, this just really sucks
It was also reported that the tremors were to be felt in Beijing, but I haven't felt anything. Luckily China is safe from the tsunami, don't think the authorities here are very prepared for disasters like this...

As for Hawaii, everyone practically heading for higher ground just like what they did back in 2010 when they had a Tsunami warning. I am happy my parents didn't extend their time in Hawaii. |
Perhaps this means that the Indo-Australian one moving which obviously runs right through NZ has caused the movement in the pacific one which runs by Japan? Like, a chain reaction I guess?
Marcus is OK, just to let everyone know. Although he's without internet
I'm sure that hurts him bad enough

88,000 people have already been reported missing after tsunami waves in Japan.
lol
ninjaedit: i was laughing at Godzilla
That Airport vid is crazy..
Another two aftershocks measuring 5.1 magnitude have just shaken Japan's east coast, the US Geological Survey reports
it just keeps coming.
this just in. norwegian snowboard legend terje haakonsen is in japan, close to one of the biggest impacts but luckily he is fine. he is now doing everything in his power to help.
