HAIR DEFENSIVE STANCE>>>> ACTIVATED

I do not want to see a picture of Hal's hair. I already know it's pretty bad.

40 bucks is relatively cheap for a "master stylist". Back when i had long hair i used to go to this salon in woodbridge to cut it, this chick which was pretty good (as in worked there for a long time) charged me like 50-60 bucks for a cut and it wasn't even good, it was shit. she would make the back of my head look either way to round or way too square, fuck i hated it. Anyways, one day i went out and got a $120 professional hair clipper/buzzer and started shaving my own hair since. i must have saved way over a grand since then.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-12-2011 03:30:

It's cheap because part of being a master stylist is having more pull (read: more clients) at the salon one works in. She doesn't have to charge a lot because she's bringing the salon more money - therefore doesn't pay as much (if at all) to rent her chair, and she gets perks. Stylists also have to buy all of their own tools of the trade, products, etc. A master stylist usually has connections to freebees, and companies recruit them to promote their products. So where a newbie stylist would be putting their earnings towards actually being able to do their job, a master stylist is taking most, or all, of theirs home - and then some.

It's nothing but ash after your barrage of follicle-seeking missiles!

pro salons are wayyy better. luckily we get discounts.

the master stylists here charge $40 more or so. They are good, but I have found a wayy better one that is not a 'master' just yet.

head massages alone make it worth it!

+1 from hot ass young girls

Posted by igottaknow on Mar-12-2011 04:16:

I have a conundrum on my hands. I got a haircut while on vaca and everyone liked it better than my regular barber back home. now what?

btw, +1 with the hot girls cutting your hair but i'd rather pay less and get my haircut more frequent.

Posted by WittyHandle on Mar-12-2011 04:17:

I have only ever met one girl who cut my hair in a way that I liked right away. Then I slept with her and it got weird, so I have doomed myself to hating my haircut for at least a week by other people.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Mar-12-2011 04:24:

yeah i get that igk, but i like having my hair longer and with a good cut it grows out nicely.

and jenny, you whore, you wanted me to post a picture so you could hate hate hate me and then you disappeared.

My brother pays 60 canadian monopoly money thingies for his hair cut. I pay the equiv of $7.60 and you know what? we come out with nigh on identical cuts. Having said that, mine is done by my uncles niece on his other side of the family who is highly trained & until she had her daughter had her own salon and now runs a small one from home, so she's got the skills, I just get the family prices

I'm not spending that kind of money. I get my hair cut every 6-10 weeks, so the cost would rack up very quickly. When I was at university I used to go to the local market and get my hair cut for 3. They would cut it really fast and generic, but looking back at photos they were some of the best hair cuts I've had.

Why haven't anyone mentioned psychology? I bet it's got something to do with how you've gotten used to an appearance and something instinctive telling you to dislike changes in it. Then you get used to it again and it's all good. I can't think of any explanation your mind would do this, but I'm so hung over my brain doesn't want to work. You figure it out.

To me that seems completely unnecessary. The difference between a good male cut and a bad male cut is a lot smaller than for females. Apart from that, forty bucks...fuck. I used to bitch at my hairdresser for charging me $20.

I don't hate fresh haircuts too much, but the same thing definitely applies to my shoes purchases. I always hate the new pair for the first month and think that the previous pair was the best ever. Cycle repeats.

I more so have trouble with the style. As montana said, I've pretty much had the same haircut my entire life. I wanted to change it up a while ago, and furious googling for examples to show the hairdresser only bought up pictures of horrible cuts on douchey celebrities like Nick Lachey and David Beckham. Also I'm too lazy/not faggy enough to do my hair regularly anyway. Last time I used product was about ten years ago, I think.

My hairline has been receding and thinning long enough such that I've just decided to shave my head for the past several months, though not to the extent where I'm left reflectively bald (the clippers I use won't allow for it, either).

It saves me time and money on getting a haircut, shampoo, showering, and getting ready to leave the house; I also rather like it on aesthetic grounds. In other words, I really wish I had hair.

Totally didn't see that coming. When I tried shaving my head, I really hated it.

a) People were always patting my dome. No, that's my dome, keep your filthy mitts off it.

b) The excess friction on pillows and car head rests annoyed me to no end.

Yes, but didn't you also notice how the cooler side of the pillow felt that much cooler for a longer period of time? Unfortunately, this also has the consequence of everything else that's cool feeling much cooler, for much longer. I'm sure you noticed that, too.
