the point is they never came up with much by themselves.

Going back in the discussion a little, this was the first mix compilation I ever bought, before I even knew that dance music comps were mixed (I was 13), and I remember skipping straight through to hear We Come 1 and having my mind blown when the music didn't stop and it went straight into the next track (Stimulated by Marco V). It cuts off in this Youtube clip but it's actually a seriously smooth transition by Dave Pearce. Quite an introduction to the concept of DJing.

But who actually cares about that, even knowing it wouldn't change a bit. Everybody liked the O Fortuna remixes (1991) by Apotheosis and Fortuna and everybody knew it was ripped from Carl Orff's. Both versions even got prohibited by law in the Netherlands, but we danced our ass off anyways

GOD IS A DJ.

We come 1 will always be my favorite.

it was an awesome show! but even more awesome was the one in 2004 in Belgrade when the crowd made them have 3 encores and the concert lasted for like 3h ... Awesome act for sure, great albums, really gonna miss stuff like No roots.

i don't, because even when i was monged off my tits on pills for a significant part of the 90's, their music always stood out as mediocre. Sampling is an essential part of dance music, but Faithless always did it in the most lazy of ways.

Did they make some music that I enjoyed?

absolutely.

That being said, their popularity was not because they were the best. In fact, in my eyes when it comes to quality musical output, I just can't see why so many people hold them in such high regard. Maybe it is just me, probably is, but faithless has always been the definition of mediocre.

Maybe many people like them that much just because of the amount of joy they get from them, and don't give a fuck about quality, which is something vague anyways.

They been around for a pretty long time, since 95. Faithless sold over 12 million records worldwide and as you can tell from watching the video posted here, they had a huge fan base. They will be missed!

This by the way is a more recent remix that I love, the breakdown @2:55 gives me goosebumps and then that half minute build up

I saw them live in 2007. It was by far the most memorable performance of the entire festival for me. They closed with an extended version of We Come 1. I had heard very little about them prior to that performance, so I went in with zero expectations. I was absolutely blown away. I've since grown to appreciate a lot of their music. They will be missed.

The Jerome Ismae Remix has a similar breakdown but the rest of the track is pretty tech housey , i like that kind of breakdown a lot, Horns and typical techno vocals
