Unlike Joss I barely know any JS so I can't say for sure what is doable.

Really JS isn't that harmful on here since its disabled on client postings. Even loading an external file isn't that bad since most browsers prevent ajax style operations from occuring on externally loaded script files. There is no way to mimic a browsers actions or anything dangerous like that on TA. You can only do annoying things like add background images.

HTML is technically more dangerous if you can do external loadings of pages that might contain a browser vulnerability, but I haven't seen any of those yet.

Those spam sleeper bots though were using CSS to hide links to sites they were spamming though in an attempt to boost their google/search ratings though. That is rather annoying because the spiders might see TA as attempting to host spam links in all their posts or lots of posts and then penalize TA's search rankings. Damn spam bots.
