^^This. I dont think there was anything wrong with the original 3-day ticket price for Electric Zoo. Seemed reasonable IMO. But 4 hours of Armin at $86........sheesh

Word. But since this is probably going to be his album release party I'm sure the last hour is going to be filled with live vocalists and drummers and keyboard players.

I agree with this.

It was around $170 for 3 days correct?

Thats fine with me. PVD always had awesome performances.

Yeah, I don't mind the last hour. Especially if we get 5 insane hours before that. The Pier thing was odd, really housey... and the shitty sound didn't help either.

Posted by SebG on May-15-2011 17:59:

This was my reaction to that hour

yup! Considering thats, what, 30-36 hours of music (I cant remember when it opens because I never showed up that early?), thats less than $6 per hour...at that rate, Armin should cost about $22 haha!

Edit: agreed on the Pier set, except that I didnt like MOST of the set. The sound sucked, too, which didnt help, I could barely hear what he was playing.

Purchased. I've never seen PvD, so this is the time to do it.

Does anyone thing more trance or progressive artists will be added to the lineup?

Just bought tickets for days 1 and 4.... First time I saw PVD was in february at terminal 5, def want to check out an extended set. Than Calderone will be a nice change of pace, never had a bad time at one of his parties

if its anything like his central park sets (which u can bet it will be) it usually takes him a couple hours to work up to it but the last 2 hours or so are always bangin

Posted by AY STAR on May-16-2011 12:44:

havent heard pvd in over a year, really amped to see him
i hope he dont have that live band act...i mean it's something new and cool but i remember at summerstage in 2006 the drummer was soooooo off beat and killed half the songs
just gimme a nice 6 hour pvd set where he can build the night up and then just own
hopefully the weather is great that weekend also

Excited to see PVD since i missed him in February. I feel like as of lately there have been less of his livesets available online, so looking forward to seeing what hes playing nowadays.

I always post up my own events, I'm not sure what everyone is barking about for this one.

Also the threads I posted have the ticket info easily accesssible, which is useful for the readers of the site.

I dunno, I'm excited, and I have tickets to sell

And by the way...this is to celebrate July 4th. Don't we have freedom of speech in this country? Just sayin' Hahahah!

I agree.

His summer stage / central park sets were epic. I believe those were all 5+ hours.

they were all 4 hour's
either way extended outdoor sets are def not failure
iam actually looking foward to it...governors island is a sick spot to have a party imo with the city right next to you sick views

Posted by trunks1022 on May-18-2011 13:31:

whichever was pvd's first summer stage was best. torrential rain and pvd bringing it to match the intensity of the rain.

I guess you were completely unaware that YOU, alone, posted 3 threads. That's all I was pointing out.
