thats what i was thinking, altho their styles would be soooo sick if they played b2b
but fran666 seems to know something we dont, so iam pretty confident it will be someone good

Posted by Fran666 on Jul-14-2011 20:06:

past years Louis didn't really participate in the House room lineup... this year he is.

just that should tell you guys it's gonna be AWESOME !!!

To be honest, I'd prefer a B2B between Hernan and Nick, than between and Hernan and Digweed

i never seen nick, but i actually seen hernan last week for the first time and he was unreal, driving melodic prog all night long
when i saw digweed back in may he was a lil bit more darker and techy
i know they play b2b in miami
but if you say nick and hernan would be a better combo then i will take your word...but iam still hopeing for someone dark and dirty to close out to the night (cox, calderone, vibe, tenaglia)

a couple of posts mentioning that we will be pleased with the house line-up.

This tells me you know the line-up....so why the big secret?

Always the same year-end and year-out:

drop 1 name
tickets go on sale
then we slowly drop a few names

why not try something different for once.

Hi Louis!

Hmmm.....If Ay is going to be pleased with the lineup, then I may have to reconsider my not going. I wasnt impressed with the trance lineup, but Ay has good suggestions that, if come true, may be worth reconsidering

I know the lineup indeed, I had the honor of booking 4 out of 6 artists in the house room this year

It's gonna be a great room in my opinion

Last year the only artist I booked in that room was Hernan and he did great. What a set he delivered

We will release names soon for the house room

More in August and last ones in September

Stay tuned househeads

What's wrong with the trance lineup ?

So far we have the following names, most of them don't play regular raves in North America

It's the perfect event for true tranceaddicts who wanna hear guys that don't play so often on this side of the ocean

Offset
Hollow Earth
Artento Divini
Marcus Schossow
Andy Moor
W&W
John O'callaghan
Ummet Ozcan
Mark Sherry

And there's more coming ;-)

'Had to shake someone out of his Arminforlife thinking and took him to the trance room last year to hear djs he did not follow and he was SUPER impressed... same for this year, esp Marcus Schossow, Andy Moor, W&W and John O'callaghan. That's a pretty notable trance lineup.

You guys I think had 40% more ppl last year than the previous year, that other event had a 25% drop. I hope this event keeps growing.... we don't have to discuss the direction the other one is going

Posted by Spin Laden on Jul-15-2011 00:23:

ok, just noticed that I was comparing two different years but I'm not gonna edit it

They had a drop in 2011 from the previous year (numbers reported to the Gazette), the verdict is still out on you guys

you make a valid point about them not coming to the states very often
and they are alot more underground names, but imo alot of them play the same style of trance
w&w,ummet, mark sherry all play that same nu-trance sound blah def not feeling it, last year had gareth, simon patterson and aly & fila
all play different styles and still keep the trance sound in their sets

plus this year theres alot of dj's on that line-up and you still got more coming?...what is each dj gonna play 45 min sets?

look i dont wanna come off like a jerk iam just saying how it see it
i hope it works out and i will be there to see joc cause imo he's the only one who will bring the trance

Posted by HappyDude72 on Jul-15-2011 01:24:

What's this obsession with "more is better" and booking so many DJs that each one only gets to play 30min. That might work for DJs weaving in and out of 4min remixes in certain styles but not house with average 8min remixes. My best Black&Blues were the ones where each DJ had a 3 hr set.

As to the house lineup, wasn't Calderone also already mentionned ?

Posted by m_falafel on Jul-15-2011 01:27:

I'm a trance head and I don't go to house raves or parties at all. But I think that house heads are really let aside when it comes to revealing the line-up. I'm happy to be able to know the trance line-up before I buy my tickets, but if I was a house head I'd be pissed off to see almost the full trance line-up is revealed and only one name on the house side...

There's nothing wrong with it Im impressed that a major party has diverse names on its list. Just kinda losing interest in trance in general, and, to make a road trip I have to be really excited about trance, which I am generally not nowadays

Also, Schossow, JOC, W&W have all been in NYC recently and the first two have come often enough that I dont feel the need to drive to MTL to see them. I would rather wait for the house/techno lineups!

Posted by PurpleHaze on Jul-15-2011 04:30:

Why is it necessary to be so delayed on preliminaries for the house lineup ... until August?? Ughhhhh so frustrating!

Trance lineup does nothing for me...Schossow blows chunks and Andy Moor is nothing like he was in 06-07. JoC is ok...

I've been craving to attend a solid MTL massive for a while (haven't been to one since Resolution 2008) and was hoping this would be it...

Don't let us down!!

Don't worry ;-)

The question has yet to be answered.

If you booked 4 out of the 6, why the need to wait until Aug/Sept.
Are the contracts signed? If so, release.

Posted by Spin Laden on Jul-15-2011 12:39:

trance always needs the extra push in Montreal in comparison to house

Posted by HappyDude72 on Jul-16-2011 19:46:

@dannyboyrm:
It's business common sense. If you release the full lineup before tickets' sale and people don't like it, then you don't sell tickets. However, sell the tickets before announcing the full lineup at a discount price with the threat of a price increase and people will buy them. They would rather pay cheap and resell them later, than having to buy them at a much higher price later. Bal en Blanc uses that model and it seems to work for them, even though people always bitch about the full lineup.

Since I never set foot in the trance room, the trance lineup has no impact whatsoever on my decision to go and to be honest, had I known the full house lineup last year, in advance, I wouldn't have bought my ticket, but I succumbed to peer pressure ;-)

Posted by dannyboyrm on Jul-16-2011 23:13:

agreed....but some of us don't mind paying a little extra as long as we know what we're getting.

Now I'm no trance fan but that line-up has been fully released and it doesn't have the bling that you'd expect. No doubt there are some solid acts but BeB usually releases the one "big name" in order to milk ticket sales.

Hernan by himself is not yet worth the $85 or so dollars so far. And to be fair why not release 2 or 3 names from each room rather than 1?

Not asking for full disclosure but whatever is going to fill up the 3-9 time slot.

BTW, BeB would probably sell-out with Armin and Guetta alone along with a bunch of trained monkeys filling out the remaining time slots.
