If we're not "cool" and "hip" like all those other "banggin" trance countries out there maybe it's because their music sucks ass? Maybe because 98% of the people here know what good music is? Perhaps because they don't like listening to underground shit that sucks my left foot? Leave us alone and let us sit in our house on our sofa's wathching 2pac, Ja Rule, and P Diddy eating our big piece of chicken. And if you don't like living in the US then leave or go sit in a cave with your fingers in your ears. Also on a side note, at least we have real dj's who know how to scratch and really use the tables, not just beatmatch with shitty BPM counters. P.S. I still like trance |
Australia is good .. if you like seeing a handful of the major DJs once a year.
So far this year we've had:
Tiesto
John 00 Fleming
Paul van Dyk
Mauro Picotto
And a busy few months coming up:
Armin
Ferry
Tall Paul
M.I.K.E.
Sasha
Thrillseekers
Satoshi Tomeii
John 00 Fleming (again)
Above & Beyond (strong rumours)
me = can't wait

UK, Holland and Germany handsdown
It ain't Belgium for sure, although we have some great producers such as MIKE, Gielen and Deruyter.
But the airwaves are contaminated with RnB, boring boysbands and last but not least bad singing to skinny to live women of so called dance projects. Anyway the nearest country to get some decent trance and to have great parties...well I must admit its The Netherlands.
To bang is style is to do Hardstyle
The best country for Trance is Germany.
It's astonishing how much great music comes out of Germany, not just the hard-style but also some real melodic Trance. It's simply amazing! (I bet none of you have heard even a tenth of all this nice music, labels like Harem, Suck Me Plasma, etc.) And of course hard-trance is also greatest in Germany.
Germany will save Trance -- I'm sure about it!

and Ayia Napa
i'm guessing the netherlands, i wana go there so bad
I agree PPK sucks f***ing ass, they are totally shit in making music, have you actually checked their previous songs, i mean how f***ing shit are they...
Even Resurection wasn't their own original idea.
yeah i agree holland and belgium have the best producers.
i dont see how germany can be put in a class with them though.
sure they have alot of ppl making trance there, and tons of fans, but it's just not very good IMO. too much banging industrial sounding music with no "life" to it. it just sounds really cheap, sorry.
Accuface is very good though, really underrated, i think they come out with some world-class stuff.

For example my favorite is Switzerland. If anyone hasn't heard any sets from their big Goliath or Evolution parties, I definitely recommend them. I would kill to go to one of those parties!! Dj Snowman, Dj Pure, Dj Simple... they are wicked! |
I've only been to the parties in the west coast of the U.S. The vibe was great a couple years back. Now it's just plain okay cuz the law always seems to break things up and parties end at 2am, where before it would last until the sun goes up.
After seeing on-line sites and magazines of other parties such as Love Parade, Gatecrasher, and other noticable parties, I think I need to go see for myself what Europe has to offer.
I would have to guess Holland cuz my favorite dj's hail from there and almost everything is legal. That's all the info I need to hear to vote Holland as the real trance counrty.

I agree that back in 1999-2000 Holland may have been the best trance country because they had so many quality tracks even from unknown producers compared to the size of the country. And there used to be many trance tracks on the Dutch dance charts, so trance was obviously played a lot on the radio as well. But then there was a fivefold decrease in the number of Dutch melodic tracks in the early 2001. I think it happened because Netherlands doesn't have a very steady trance culture, after all. I mean Holland has many top events and DJs, but they aren't exclusively trance. Even Tiesto, Armin and Ferry have a non-uplifting side when DJing. And most of the best Dutch trance producers are making other genres as well. Of course, this is musically a very good thing, but it made it easy for them to forget trance, and move to other genres. |
i duno but all i know is that america isnt one of them

| Originally posted by Eugene That's a common misconception. Unfortunately very little stuff released in Germany (and there's tons!) gets known and recognized in the rest of Europe. Let me just give you a few titles, to contradict your "no-life-to-it" misconception... 1) Tracks: DJ Elb - Relieve My Pain, Moni B - Stripped, D-Mention - Daydream, Triple Concept - Reminisce Over You, Electra - Hear Me, Feel Me, Jupiter - Secrets of Life, Kai Tracid - (anything), Lightforce - Join Me, Martin Eyrer - (anything), ... 2) Labels: Harem, Kontour, Dos Or Die, Suck Me Plasma, Mindworx, Unsubmissive, ... |
I've never seen the trance scene in other countries. But I reckon Australia's scene is something to watch out for. Maybe not so much pure trance, but hard trance/house and progressive.

The USA is definately not one of them. Most people I know, don't know what TRANCE is. They think that if its not rap or r+b its TECHNO, and it must suck. That is until I play a good TRANCE cd, and they love it, and ask me who it is. Then when I tell them they go WHO? At least the top dj's still come here.
In fact, Belgium got lots of trance lover, but there isn't enough events. We got lots of Techno here (I Love Techno, Kozzmozz, Fuse,...), but it starts to change. Just watch the line up of the events that are coming up... Illusion 15years -> Tiesto, Tall Paul, Sister Bliss,.... Brussels is Burning -> Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Marco V, Push,...
So something seems to change in our little country! We just need more trance clubs (cause we got enough hardstyle clubs
cherry moon, h2o,... they all kick asses but like 1% of trance)
But for me, Holland is n1 and UK n2
